The fun thing is.. you don't even need to buy this... You can just print out a bunch of sheets of the island.. and use six regular d6 dice.. just associate every side with one resource... e.g. 1 = lumber, 2 = brick.. etc... If you own Catan you can even use six hexes and the pieces for roads, settles and cities... Use the knight cards to place on the hex when purchased and just flip it over when spent... Actually that sounds like a fun solo game, I'll go ahead and try it myself
Thanks for the lesson on this game. I bought it at a Walmart. I'm not even into Catan. It's a cool little game. I think it's definitely a good gateway game to getting into Catan.🙂 I now like Catan and I'm saving money to buy the game The Settlers of Catan and maybe a few expansions.
Picked this up at the grocery store tonight for $5 after noticing it out of the corner of my eye... glad it wasn't a waste! I will get more use out of this than a latte. I play Yahtzee every once in awhile, so this game will join in those nights. Thanks for the quick review, just what I was looking for :D
10 bucks looks about all it's worth, and than it still would NEVER get played. LOL, after posting that statement I went to see what it does sell for. I guess they knew not to charge much, $10 look about the avg. price
I've never actually gotten it out to play, but I got it on sale for under $4 at Walgreens a little over a year ago. After taking it out and looking at it, it didn't look like something I really cared to play. I guess it would be easy enough to stick the whole game in a pocket to carry around, but when I have the rest of my shelf, there is nothing making me want to take this off.

Sorry but I still consider it super boring and repetitive. I have it and played it when my boys were about five or so. Since then it came out a couple of times but is now collecting dust...
I got this for my birthday and I really enjoy it. I like solo games and this did a great job.
OP: "Way better than people give it credit for!"
OP 3 minutes later: "Hot Garbage"

I enjoyed playing the solo version with friends, I think it is pretty good.

Or just get Castles of Burgundy: Dice Game or Roll Through the Ages: Bronze Age and be well pleased!
I just got Roll through the Ages Iron Age. Thoughts?
I guess he has no thoughts on it
