- Grand Prairie (TX) Fire Department Truck 1, Engine 1, Battalion 1, and Air 1 responding to a reported structure fire.
Note: Truck 1 has put their frontline truck back into service after a while of getting a new cab and getting other repairs following the accident involving truck 1. Truck 1 is a 2010 Arrow XT.

Every time I hear the tones for my department, or any other department I get Goosebumps lol
They will never have to move to a new station with doors of that size! Lol I love it!
love those firehouse doors - you don't see many of those - they sure seem to open a lot faster than the regular doors
As a former firefighter I am aware that by responding to an alarm with lights & siren, you will arrive sooner but your chances of being involved in an accident increases because of how other drivers respond to the lights and sirens. Air 1 will arrive at the scene without the increased accident risk.
What point did this comment serve?? Run hot to bad calls. That’s the way it’s done. There’s inherent risk.
Nice! You got it from inside the station with the tones, you opening the door and then all these lovely trucks with great siren. Shame Air 1 didn't use any noise or lights.

Awesome catches! Weird they send their air unit first due on a reported structure fire. And that it wasn't running code.
well they staff the air unit every day so it goes to calls like that, it's safer to take it non code.
Why is that??
The air unit would not be needed urgently at a fire, it is only there to fill up air tanks, the crews should have enough for initially entering the fire.

here where i live the air truck doesn't respond to any structure fires until its requested by command..

Yes. They respond code 1 to all fires and are attached as part of the initial assignment.
Does Grand Prairie use tac channels on calls or do they use strictly dispatch for communications
Y did'nt the air unit put its lights on but stopped at the red light then proceed threw the light....

Hey! What are you doing way out there? I stopped by there at shift change in July 2017. Asked where a good AC shop was. They walked me out the front door and pointed to a building that was about 200 yards away. Got my AC fixed and the shop owner drove me back to my hotel and picked

that's just how they do it.
Smilelegoman 2 more then likely air didn't run code cause it wasn't requested since command wasn't on scene yet. Air units don't run code till requested by command on scene.
Deven Bowersox depends I know the Columbus Fire Department here in Ohio they dispatch there air unit when there is a reported fire with or without command on the scene and they always respond code 3
Where I’m from trucks carry extra bottles so it’s no need for air 1 to run code. I’m sure when he gets there they won’t need new bottles yet.

yes, if you listen to the dispatch at the beginning of the video you'll hear everyone who went to the fire.

Those first 3 trucks should learn from the last air & light truck...... He's going to get where he's going silently and safely, unlike the first 3 who are going to scare people and cause them to panic from all the lights and noise they are making........
rico334 if that makes you panic, don't drive. Simple as that.
When your house burns down and the trucks turn up half hour after you call the FD don't have a go at the FD then.
