1:37 I am Mexican and my daughter's father is Irish. Even though I always speak English, I can speak, read, and understand español fluently. It's my mother tongue so of course I know Spanish. My parents started to speak to my daughter in English but I said, No, No, No! Speak to her en español so that she can learn. And she did. She is now trilingual; English, Spanish, Italian. She learned Italian on her own. I am also trilingual but with English, Spanish, and French.

About the first question, my wife is a foreigner too. I learnt her lang, and she learnt Italian. while in the beginning, we were communicating only in English.
Our kid, 3 years and a half, started to say some words a bit before his second birthday, and now he speaks both languages because I forced myself to talk only in Italian with him after reading about different techniques for kids with mixed parents. So big success, and I wish the same for yours that are going to come.

I was thinking that you might like to start something new by doing some videos that highlight your favorite places in Italy. Oh, and they don’t need to be fancy. Just places that you love to go. If you don’t have photos ask your family to go out and photograph them. Do a video photo montage with you both as the ‘travel guides’, with your loving bantering and nuances. In the Impressionist style m. Then, next time you’re there follow it up with a video of you revisiting your special places.
