I just spent 13months in Mexico.....Now in SoCal....I can honestly say Mexico just FEELS safer to me. I feel more relaxed & less like something silly may happen. Mind you, I am Hispanic & not an "avg tourist" looking guy. I also walked 100s of miles & did not see one incident. My experience. Cheers
I know the feeling. Thank you for sharing.
@@geogarcia4065 awesome I did 4 months from January 1st till end of April taking care of one of my uncles
As a canadian, We have NOT been to U.S for a LONG while. We love Mexico and Cuba and always feel safer than some cities at home
Thank you for sharing
I've lived in Mexico 24 years. It's great.
💯
Maybe the U.S. needs to look at itself before throwing stones at others...
Agreed!
Yes indeed
I'm from downtown Los Angeles. I live in a war zone every day killings, stabbing, drive bye. Crazy. I love San Luis Potosi Mexico. Rioverde Tamasopo is a beautiful paradise I don't have to watch my back
Thank you for sharing 🇲🇽
Vancouver Canada and area has so many shootings and crime rates are high. My daughter and I felt safer walking around Bucerias and PV at night than we do here during the day. Thanks for your videos.
Thank you for sharing. 🙌
My wife and I just spent 2 weeks in La Cruz, just outside Bucerias. Beautiful place, love the locals, we felt totally safe as we always do when we visit Bahía de Banderas. Great video👍
La Cruz is a great town. Thanks for watching!
I have lived in Mexico 25 years. Some places are safe others are very dangerous, depends where you are.
Agreed
Hello Sheema...
It would be good if you can list down some city name which are safe...
What areas are safer? I want to travel to inland Mexico.
Well said and informative. I’ve been to a few different beach areas in Mexico (PV, Bucerias, Huatulco) quite a few times over the past 20 years and have never felt unsafe. Using common sense, no matter where you are, goes along way when it comes to safety. I live in Saskatchewan Canada where, in 2021, the capital city of Regina had 70 murders, the highest homicide rate of all Canadian provinces at 5.93/100,000. Despite that, I’ve never heard of a travel warning for Saskatchewan!
That’s right. The travel warnings only go one way for some reason. Thanks for sharing!
My wife and I go to Cancun every year. Love it.
Excelente 🇲🇽
YES, We feel very safe in Mexico. We are not foolish, we don’t buy nor use drugs, we don’t walk around in middle of the night, we keep our important documents and most of our credit cards and cash back in the safe. This is same as when we travel in USA. The Mexican people we meet are very friendly, helpful, happy, and respectful to us. We 💓Mexico!
Thank you for sharing!
@@MovingToMexiCo we’re enjoying your genuine Bucerias content, and sharing what people are doing to enhance the community there. we were there in April & liked it lots. Coming back hopefully soon! May rent long term in retirement there in Bucerías as one of the many towns in Mexico we’d like to check out!
I just got back from PV from Canada. I rented an Airbnb for a month. My Grandaughter came with me for two weeks and then I spent the next two weeks by myself. Not once did I feel unsafe and we were in a district where the Mexicans lived, in other words not in a hotel area
Great to hear!
I actually think there is more safety away from the tourist areas because that is where all the pick pockets and other scammers are.
I’m a retired single 73 year old woman- I’ve lived in Mexico 8 years feel safer here.
Thank you for sharing 😃
Lived in GDL and GTO for a year and a half, single female. Never once did I feel unsafe. One must have common sense and an understanding of the culture - and knowing some Spanish helps, too - to do well there, imho. Thanks, Paul.
Very nice to hear. Thanks for sharing.
Where I go in Mexico is definitely safer in all aspects than where I live in Canada.
Thank you for sharing
I just spent five weeks in Mexico City. Took Uber and the Metro. I felt more safe on that metro than in NYC. Neither did I encounter any other problems in Mexico City. At the moment I'm in Queretaro. No problem at all.
Very cool. Enjoy your time.
I feel 100% safe in Mexico. I often drive to Mexico and from the U.S and back with no issues.
That’s great to hear 😃
MEXICO ES MUY SEGURO Y LA HOSPITALIDA ES MARAVILLOSA.
💯
I've traveled throughout central MX and Baja and it's very safe. I've been to Guadalajara, Leon, Guanajuato City, San Miguel, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos. Beautiful places with friendly people and great weather! I plan to move there and one of the best reasons as you mentioned in the video is to avoid the fallout of possible war coming into the US mainland either external or internal. And bonus on the MX healthcare system as well as cleaner food. Almost universally people report their food allergies disappear. Thanks for the video!
Those are beautiful places you’ve visited. Saludos!
The best part about "mainstream media" aka government propaganda is turning it off 🙌🏼 VIVA MEXICO 🇲🇽 AND ALWAYS DO YOU OWN RESEARCH AND BE VIGILANT
Yes!! 👏
Yes I feel Safe in Mexico
Excelente
Good information and comparisons. I second the sidewalk injury possibility! No gawking while walking!😅
Great video Paul. Just got back last night from Bucerias and never ever have we felt in danger. Oh ya, maybe one and I experienced it this trip, the dreaded sidewalks. Ended up in the hospital for 4 hours.
The silent killer. The uneven pavement.
Vacation the last years summers in Mexico and Querétaro, happy to report that the best city in all of Mexico is safe and clean, sidewalks may be somewhat better. Come to Querétaro! I retired last year, and am making my move to permanently move to Querétaro, MX summer 2024!
I here really good things about Queretaro. We will have to come visit!
I believed the US propaganda for most of my life (I’m 49) until taking a trip to PV three years ago. Couldn’t believe how beautiful Mexico was and how dumb I felt buying into the lies. There’s crime everywhere and you just need to be smart. Fast forward, I’ve been to Bucerias/PV five times in the past two years and can’t wait to return. Now I spend my days correcting my friends who say I’m crazy for always vacationing in such a dangerous area to which I reply, look where we live…..next to Portland, OR.
That’s great to hear. It’s a whole new world to explore. 👏
While I have not been to Mexico, I will agree that Americans will excuse the mass shootings, the obsession with guns, or the bombing of the Federal Building by a white American, or other crimes. For some reason, the ignoring seems to be their way of their continued and ignorance of "the USA is the best country in the world" And I bet they have never lived nor travelled to another country to see other cultures and a better quality of life. Brainwashed Americans.
It’s about time that the US puts some traveling advisories on their own dam cities. I’ve lived in Mexico for 2 1/2 years and have never had a problem. I feel safer here than in Los Angeles where I grew up
Yes 👏
Excellent video! I recently moved from San Bernardino California to Querétaro Mexico. I can say I feel 100x safer here in Mx. than I did in California. We live in the heart of the historical city center and not in a quiet suburb like we did in the US and we feel much safer here. The news is so deceiving about crime in Mexico. We always say if you wanna go look for trouble, you’ll find it. But the same is true anywhere in the world.
Absolutely. Thanks for sharing.
@@elabuelopepe1 You could probably find a long term Airbnb to stay in for a few months, but since you’d only be on a tourist visa it would be very hard to find a long term rental. ( unless you have duel citizenship or can get get your temp. Residency while you are here. The move was easy. Packed everything we owned into 5 suitcases and flew down. Found an apartment in the first month we were here.
I'm from the US, living in Mexico for three years. I've never been victimized by ANY crime, nor have I been ripped off because I'm a "Gringo." I've never been approached by a drug dealer. I've never been made to feel unwelcome in this beautiful country.
If you live along the border or the cartel corridor, it's different.
I feel a lot safer here than I would in Chicago, St. Louis, Baltimore, or Memphis! I don't live in a gated community, I live among the locals. The people are gracious and friendly, and the culture is amazing. It's certainly the best move I've ever made!
That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing!
I lived in Milwaukee for10 years, and Chicago for 8....never once felt unsafe or threatened in either city. I crossed the border into Tijuana for one evening, and got heckled because of my race the entire time I was there. I never would want to live in Mexico. So where you feel safe is only thru the eyes of the beholder
Excellent video; very informative. Me wife and I live in Southern California, Laguna Beach. We are planning to retire in Mexico City. Your video was very interesting. Great job!!
Very cool. Where are you looking to retire in Mexico?
Totally agree with you. 👍
✌️
Visited Mexico numerous times and always feel safer than in the US. My wife and I plan to move there soon.
Very cool. Where will you be moving to?
@@MovingToMexiCo We are still debating :) We like the La Paz area, but Guanajuato will have a better climate. We may end up doing a few months here and there before we find the right spot to settle
We just spent three weeks in Baja Sur ,rented a car drove all over ,my esposa and our dog no issues at all ,just the scam time share creeps at the airport to avoid 😄🌴🌴
Haha! I’m glad you had a nice trip 🙌
I went to Cabo San Lucas Mexico last year, and I'll be back this year! Not once did i EVER feel unsafe. Meanwhile at home in Atlanta, I expect something to happen most any night
Thank you for sharing! 🎣
Thank you for this. We love Mexico.
Gracias 🙏
Thank you Paul for the great news
Thank you for watching!
The question that should be asked: "is the United States, specifically Metro-Atlanta, Georgia, safe to visit?"
A lot of US cities could be asked the same. Thank you for sharing.
I have lived in metro Atlanta all my life (except a few years in San Diego and Spain) and Atlanta is considered one of the worst cities for crime. I never travel there because like Cartels, know it is not in my best interest. Returned to Georgia and wish I had not. What was I thinking? Oh, I wasn't.... lol. Thinking of using my Spanish and return to Spain or Mexico. Thus my viewing of this video.
We have been travelling to Mexico from Canada for the past 16 years and have always felt safe. We walk a lot in the Evening in Puerto Vallarta and we would never do that at home. Never felt uncomfortable walking, just have to know your surroundings and be careful.
Thank you for sharing!
I just visited Baja California for the first time and was very nervous due to the things I heard in the news and especially after what happened to those surfers. The worst thing that happened to me was getting ripped off by a taxi driver in Tijuana. I accepted it because I got back from Ensenada a little later than expected and didn't want to walk around at night. The people in Tijuana were friendly, the people in Ensenada were REALLY friendly, and I walked all over Tecate with no trouble from anyone. Also had a Baja dog stuff himself through a gate to chase me but turns out he only wanted the fries I had. I was in no physical danger at any point nor was I violently mugged, threatened, etc.
I’m glad to hear you had a positive experience. Thanks for sharing!
Amo al pais Demi madre santa Mexico es una bellesa. Pual God bless you You're beautiful wife and your beautiful kids you guys rock.

I’ve spent many months traveling all through Mexico a lot of the cities across or so-called level four don’t travel I have had nothing but great experiences with the people I am now in Coatepec Veracruz after spending a month in Veracruz city and a Month in Xalapa I’m 73 and travel with a Schipperke service dog and walk everywhere day and night and have never felt unsafe except when the sidewalk got the best of me coming out of a pub with friends when I rolled over who was first to help was a cop offering his hand yea I may have been some what drunk with the cop was nothing but kind and very helpful as for my friends after the cop left they all got a good laugh I love Mexico to be clear the friends I was with live here in Coatepec I met them here
The sidewalks are truly dangerous. Especially after a few drinks. Thanks for sharing 🍻
“Dude, look where we live” lol 😂
I remember having that conversation with you 😂
I spent 3 months in Michoacán Mex no problems if you’re looking for trouble you will find it 💯💯🇲🇽🇲🇽👍🏽👍🏽
I love Michoacán 🇲🇽
I been living in a cute beach twon in Mexico for about eight years, and I've never seen any violence at all... Nothing but Mexicans helping each other... Mexicans are welcoming and friendly I have nothing bad to say about Mexixo and Mexicans... I have more good to say. and yes is very safe where I live.
That’s great to hear!
Bravo! Excellent research. Very informative. Of course, there are dangerous cities that I will never visit in Mexico, in the US or elsewhere for that matter. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Our son lives in Mississauga (Toronto) Canada and every time we visit there are daily criminal attacks including deadly shootings and stabbings. This doesn't stop us from visiting our son whenever possible. We are are naturally vigilant, remain aware of our surroundings and use of common sense when moving about.
With regards to Mexico, we walk in many residential neighbourhoods when we feel that it's safe to do so. However, we prefer to be back in our apartment before it gets too late at night and we avoid shady neighbourhoods. We rarely walk the streets after tienda closing times (10 pm) and live like the locals when it's dark. For example, we stick to well lit streets with people moving about.
Yea good tips. I think in general to use common sense is the best practice no matter where we are. 🍻
I live in Atlanta, every single day one person die, Savanna GA 13 people die from a shooting.
Massachusetts, four girls were stabbed and a couple
Very sad.
I’m looking to move to South America at some point. It’s relatively safe in most places. Keeping your wits and not acting a fool will generally keep you out of trouble.
I also think that learning the language helps gain some respect from the local community. I’m learning Spanish on my own as a third language. Just that effort of trying to communicate with them in their language can go a long way.
Good manners and common sense go a long way.
I live in the state if Colima Mexico, recently found to be the least safe state in Mexico. Look, just dont do drugs, dont hang around with cartel members and stay away from the known areas they frequent. We feel very safe here. Due to the cartel element it is very easy to avoid being a victim. Whereas crime in the USA seems totally random. You can be shot in school, in a grocery store and in a parade in the USA. That randomness is not an issue here. For the average non-cartel m we mber Mexico is more safe than the USA.
Yea that was how I felt living in Salina, CA. If you’re not involved in the crime then you’re most likely not going to become a victim of it. However it is still not a nice feeling to have that violence around you.
They always report danger in Mexico; however, the murder down the street in the USA never every makes the news - it's only rare acts of violence in Mexico. I've spent a lot of time in Mexico and I've always been safer there than I am in the USA - or the same. I feel very safe in Mexico.
Thank you for sharing
Or Americans forget the daily mass shootings of innocent people - children- being murdered with an assault weapon. This has become acceptable in our 'quality of life". Sad. And cartels are a warning? Our perspective is screwed up here in the US.!
We just returned from another great trip to Culiacan! I had a blast interviewing people about why they love Culiacan. Don't listen to the naysayers and the news. Go check it out and decide for yourself.
Great to hear! I still need to check out Culiacan. Thanks for sharing.
Last year in playa del carmen I almost witnessed one of the local drug dealers get shot to death ON the main strip which is 5th avenue. It was crazy, it was early evening too. Unfortunatley a random tourist was hit by one of the stray bullets. So, anything can and will happen, but what you gonna do, stay in the house all the time?
Yes I remember when that happened. It’s unfortunate whenever and where ever that happens. Thanks for sharing,
Of course
👍
As long as your not in the drug business...and have some common sense; anybody from any place in the world will be ok in México. Good afternoon.
Thank you 🙏
Que tristesa, Ni de visita a mi Pais puedo ir
I live in the suburbs of Portland and will never support the downtown area with my money again. The same goes for thousands of others.
I totally get that. Thanks for sharing.
bueno esas seguro que los angeles Filadelfia y otros estados de EEUU
Gracias por compartir
Mexico is a safe country to travel but you have to avoid all dangers involve buying drugs, stay away of any thing is illegal in all the countries. I guarantee you Mexico is one of the most beautiful and peaceful county. I love Mexico don't believe all the news telling you about it see for your self and aways stay out of trouble.
Agreed 👍
My older brother is headed to Mexico from Friday -Wednesday and I’m actually a little worried
Where is he going?

Did you watch the video?
@@MovingToMexiCo Yes! That`s why i said it.
Sometimes it's difficult to understand if a comment is adding to the conversation or not. @@ADelonge209
Great video. What Americans ignore is the fact that all the cartels have hubs in the US, "warehouses" even in Montana. Atlanta has Sinola and is the third largest warehouse for the entire US. No one seems to be aware that these cartels are right next to you but hey- Mexico is unsafe! The cartels are in the US because there is a market awaiting them: drug addiction and they get their supply of weapons. Mexico doesn't supply them with weapons- the US does. Americans and their rationalization of their own crime is laughable. And ignore mass shootings that are an everyday occurrence: Due to gun violence in 2023: 40,000 people! And not all due to cartels. Go figure the ignorance and "America is so great".
For sure. The drugs, guns, slave trade, is very profitable for the politicians on both sides.
@@MovingToMexiCo Agree. And the fact that our healthcare will never be resolved because the big "pharms" lobby to our politicians. Guess they don't want to give up their "bonuses". I worked for a huge pharmaceutical conglomerate and I can attest to the lobbying.
Always the same title
It works 😉
Just don't go surfing.
😉
Interesting question, my family spent 4 weeks in Puerto Escondido and Bahías de Huatulco, state of Oaxaca, south of Mexico, everything was very quiet and I saw a lot of international tourism.

The answer to the question is - No it's not. Panama is a much more safe, much more democratic and stable country, and uses the US dollar as its currency. Its a modern country with progressive ideas and a joy to visit and even retire there for thousands of American expats.
I’m glad to hear you’re feeling safe in Panama.
No, it is not safe. Stay in your own country.
Ok 😉
