The camera isn’t the problem, Taffer’s mic is. I have to turn the volume up every time he is talking, but I have to turn it down every time other people talk. It’s a horrible set up for a podcast. I can’t believe that they didn’t have a sound guy balancing the audio. Probably the lowest quality podcast I’ve heard.

I was at a Dominos picking up Pizza and when I paid, the machine automatically asked me about adding a tip. The cashier said, "God, I hate that thing. We are hourly/salaried workers, please don't leave a tip because I have to claim that on taxes and I'd rather not do that." Him and I started chatting about it. He said it only started when they switched to a new terminal for card transactions. It's a money grab by the company that makes the terminal. If you spend $20 at Dominos and that company takes 10%, they get $2. But if you spend $20 and add a 20% tip now it's $24 total and at 10%, they get $2.40. The company that makes the terminal wants you to tip every time because it raises their bottom line, not because it's a gratuity for service.
And this is why you should always tip cash if you can.
Why don't they want to claim their tips on taxes? If they got paid more hourly it would be claimed on their taxes. Makes no sense.

my three big gripes with this podcast is;
1: them not having the camera focused on the person talking (or at least having a show with all four of them),
2: the audio levels are not consistent at all.
3: you can hear a ton of background noise so it's really distracting
still honestly great to hear jon talk outside of the show, great perspective and makes me like him + the show even more

I think this is a great podcast. However, there were times I thought my phone was frozen because it was only on the two of you. It seemed like a person who wanted their face in there as much as possible even when they weren't commenting. I hope the show progresses and that you guys are going well. There are just a few things to work on. I wish you the best!

The audio levels are all over the place on this podcast. Put some headphones on so you can hear your levels and know when you're too close or too far from the mic and adjust accordingly. Otherwise, love Jon Taffer!

I also think they should focus the camera on the person talking. Jon was talking multiple times throughout the episode and the camera was just focused on the other two guys staring at him nodding their head. First time watching this podcast so idk if this is how it tends to be or not.

Its a fact the audio levels are weird asf in this video and they should always try to improve their videos. When you have a guest on your show you put the camera on them when they are talking. We don't want to look at them the whole time when they have guests.

The reason all those machines have select a tip preference even when the employee wouldnt normally receive tips is because the machine vendors for the fancy card readers as apart of the deal with the business, automatically take x% of all card transactions regardless if it’s a tip or not. The card companies are the ones forcing the tip screen to pop up

Taffers mic is really low compared to the others. Turn the volume up to hear John then get blasted by the others voice
John is not good at keeping a consistent distance from the mic. He is used to a body mic and is very animated while speaking.

One thing about Jon... Be real with him, he'll be real with you and give you the tools for success ( Bar Rescue was here recently and did an AMAZING transformation on one of our local hangouts). Be a fake, forget it... he's GONE!

Jon is an industry professional (both bar AND film), but he's so passionate that he occasionally loses focus and gets too far away from the mic while speaking about his craft. I'm impressed by that level of enthusiasm, it's the mark of person who cares.

Why is the audio so cluttered
In Quebec Canada a 15% tip is added to your bar and food bill, it’s the law, you don’t have a choice to pay it. You can have shitty service, bad drinks and disgusting food, waiters with bad attitude, they don’t even care about you anymore, they know they will get their tips anyway.
You still have to pay even if you get disgusting food? What about if you discuss the food?
I knew Canada was bad, but the governments over there make sure that you know they hate you and want you dead. In the US, they blow smoke up our butts while stealing our money.

i would def pay closer attention to the mix on your vocals on future podcasts. sometimes your vocals are super super quiet and then get REALLY loud. great interview otherwise - just wanted to point that out :)
I thought new york had a huge night club scene Bigger than the bar acene and i thought the night club scene in new york was almost as big as it is in miami not as big as miami but a little smaller or is that just new york city??
I gew up in miami and i live there part time still i have a house on miami beach and i live there durinng the winter months and live in vancouver wa during the summer months portland oregon is right across the bridge from vancouver WA i like to say i live on the normal side of the bridge because over in portland they say keep portland weird lmfao.

he needs to start with how do the bars get on the show, how do they get the info from the bar, how they first communicate and all the damn cameras in the bar but the employees still do dumb shit even though they know they on camera. all he did is explain the show, we know all that shit.
You need a podcast rescue. All this money invested and less than 100 comments in 4 months with a guest like John Tapper. I was ready to click off the video before he even started explaining his whiskey because of how bad your audio is. $700 mics and you put them on the desktop so everyone listening can hear every time someone bumps the desk or puts their hand down. You also need to balance your audio, it sounds like you dont even have a gain limiter setup. Theres a bunch of background noise and every time someone gets too close to the mic their breath is punching me in the eardrums. Also why no tight shots on the guest when you have multiple cameras? Who wants to see this guy with a ponytail who has nothing of value to add to the conversation? If you only have 2 cameras with you do a wide shot of everyone and a tight shot of the guest. Would have at least gave you a better thumbnail ffs.

It was cool to see John Taffer, but good luck getting me back. This podcast is horrible - top issues being audio, lack of camera flips to who's talking, and honestly the hosts prolly have 2nd jobs at the circus
Serious as hell. If it was a circle table set up it wouldve been so much better. A different mic, maybe a RODE, it wouldve been fine. Maybe they just started but there are too many places to get info for it to sound so piss poor.
Pauly Ambrus , Canyon Inn, and Smiling Ed (The Dugout) were both so unappreciative to the point where I disliked them .
