    I've had mine about 3 weeks now. I wasn't too happy with the factory presets but after creating my own rigs I am quite impressed. It comes with a ton of IR's loaded and ready to use. None of the other low priced modellers can run dual amps and cabinets (that, and the stereo effects loop was why I purchased it.) It's actually really well built and the touch screen, while a bit small (works perfectly.) The last processor I had was a Boss GT6 ... this is like a space ship compared to that.

    It is a very powerfull piece of gear, what I like of Headrush is that the DSP in the flagship Pedalboard is exactly the same as the gigboard or the MX5. If you see below the amp there is a 2x button, if you press it, you can have 2 different amps in the same block, that means that you can load up to 4 diferent amps and 4 different amps per rig using the dual path configuration; and even better: if you use the SCENE and the PRESET feature, you can have up to 12 different amps + 12 different cabs in the same rig without running out of DSP; maybe this is unnecesary but Headrush is capable of doing that.

      @@gtrmurat Ive got the Unit for 2 days and than i send it back. I didn't get a decent sound from a TS + Peavey + a very familiar IR. There was always an inappropriate distortion in some frequencies. I had a Line 6 stomp before. Was satisfied with the sound, but not with the handling. With the MX5 it's exactly the other way around. - In addition: I do not understand how it is possible that an 8 year old pedal can drop without latency and all modern modellers totally lose the game. Now I have a Mooer 005 + Radar with a USB to 9V converter. Old but enough !

    I’ve had one for a tad under 2 weeks now and I love the thing. For the cost you just can’t go wrong with it. Yeah the screens a bit small and adjusting certain things can be a little fiddly, but if it were ANY bigger, it would ruin one of the things I love most about it. How small and easily portable it is. I LOVE that I can put this and a couple cables in a gig bag and it’s all I need. I have the full size pedalboard as well and this also acts as a backup for that. Fantastic. Ok let’s be honest most of the time the full size one is the backup as I always grab this little guy.

    • @denism131
      @denism131 2 роки тому

      Hey man, so are you missing the footswitches at any point or are the 3 switches enough in combination with the rig/setlist modes? I think of buying one and am not sure if the mx5, line 6 pod go (similar price, more footswitches) or spending a lot more for the pedalboard (compromising a lot of money and size).

    • @philw8049
      @philw8049 2 роки тому +1

      @@denism131 well the Pedalboard of course is just “more”. More switches if you use a lot of effects you turn on and off a lot it might be worth it. But keep in mind it is huge compared to the mx5, and weighs a lot more. But really, for me the MX5 is just fine. I use setlists and scenes to good effect. But I don’t do anything too crazy, usually a rythm and lead but if I really need more on one song I just have to make sure I setup the setlist properly and I can just move up or down a patch midsong, it’s really no problem.
      I don’t know too much about the pod go but if I’m remembering correctly it just doesn’t have as many features, can’t run as many effects at once. I could be wrong about that though.

    I'd like a Mesa Rectifier shootout with that thing. Also I'm curious on how well their pitch shifter (whammy) emulation tracks notes and bends. That's usually a place where modelers cheap out. Bends will give you weird tracking issues when using a 5th or 7th up blended with the original signal. Or you can feel a clear delay between the original signal and the pitched effect. Could you comment on that?

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  2 роки тому +1

      Not specifically bends, but the pitch shifter does work very well, I was actually pretty impressed that it was dropping whole chords down by a few semitones and still convincing. Further away you get from your true tuning, the less convincing it is, which I imagine is pretty normal

    Here's my take on the MX-5. Don't bother trying to dial in a good tone without Custom IRs. Even then the Helix and PODGo products are way better in the amp tones before it hits the Custom IRs. The only way to get a good tone out of the MX-5 is to use a great Custom IR because the amp tone is not that good. Also, the amp selection is a handful of amps with some slight variations. You get what you pay for and the MX-5 is cheap. Mine got returned and I had high hopes for it since it was based on the Eleven Rack product line.

      you can dial in great tones w/o IR's. IR's do help for specific tones, and I have a lot of IRs on mine, but some of my favorite rigs are with the amp/cabs that came with it. Hot take, but I'm sure you just needed to take more time in dialing in. I got a great sound without going into the IR's for a while. However yes, IR's take it up a whole notch, load a dv77 with a leveled 421 mic IR into a powerball model with the appropriate settings across the whole rig and you aren't ever getting rid of the thing, I guarantee it.

    Ive got the Unit for 2 days and than i send it back.

    Why always those extreme distorted guitar sounds when reviewing these kind of mfx pedals? I want to hear clean tones !!!

      You can get really great clean tones. They also have an acoustic pedal that is fantastic as well. Plus of course artist and rig downloads are available, If you can hear it in your head, you can create it on this, just need to really get into it and learn how to really dial everything in to the way you want it. For me, that's part of the fun, it's creating tones that are specifically just yours. And this is easy to use. I watched a couple video's on how to really dial things in, and I was off creating around 100 different rigs now on mine.

    Am I the only one who thinks this sounds like dogsh*t for high gain metal? Lol IMO the distortion sounds like it’s farting. Weird unpleasant breakup sound almost. Idk just me. Mooer is more my vibe

    Nothing special imo... The Flamma preamp and cab sim were much much better and organic sound wise; not to mention the price.
