@@Skullduggerous_pirate I do have a question though about your set up we used canvas in the usmc on are chest knees and elbows for skull dragging and to cover buttons for less snag why didn’t you do that? Just wondering brother
One crazy thing I found years ago is.. if you use an old camcorder like vhs-c and look through the view finder or pop out side screen, ghillies will show up darker than natural vegetation. (Even when it blends great with the naked eye) Me and my battle buddy only found this out screwing around, but it was cool to see..
it's because some Ghillies have dyes that soak up UV light making them stand out... it's also why hunters use different ghillie suits when hunting deer etc... because animals can see some UV light unlike humans
@@SaucyJack. Very interesting to hear that..Now that you mention the spectrum and how the dyes effect how different animals see stuff, it reminded me of another thing too...(Chlorophyll filters?) If anyone decides to build one of these be prepared, they’re not as easy as they look when the professionals in the videos teach you how to make them it’ll take you probably several months and that’s working on it regularly. It’ll be expensive. You will make mistakes if you start without an industrial sewing machine, you’ll be sorry Halfway through use nylon do not forget to vent it. First I would recommend to vent starting from the wrist all the way through the bottom of your arms through under your arms, so down to your sides and have a vent across your back. I used inferior halfway inferior resources to build it as in hunting clothes instead of military clothes I would recommend that and then there is a special nylon. I have read about on. I have to order some myself and re-cut out my venting because this is supposed to be military gray nylon mesh that is resistant to thermal, and then I’ll also cut it in strips and tie around my fishnet holding my juit but also remember to sew your 550 to your suit. It doesn’t tie to the netting. The juke does tie to the netting. if you don’t sew the 550 to the suit itself, it will not whole vegetation the more juit the more thermal resistant you are, but my idea is I like to pull mine from the roots and tie it carpet it completely. I’m talking about 100 ties or better and get it very tight water the day before and let it start growing into the suit and start growing back together, depending on where you’re going to be if it’s green grassy area but the area like that what he did is just fine. I’ve also figured out if you’ll leave your 550 untie much easier to reveg the second time it sort of like the hair ties just pull it out and stick it back in, but they don’t snap
That intro was sick! Wheres that music from? Sounds exactly what sniper music should sound like. Maybe next episodes could be a rifle ghillie and backpack selection and loadout
I wouldn't know how to do this tactically, I'm an airsoft sniper and I currently run into the rare issues of not finding a proper hide, and being that airsoft is taken somewhat seriously its hard for me to personally veg my suit before being seen or shot at, and often times find the need to re blend myself but the process is just too long and makes me too visible. I've thought of getting a suit with a tight outer netting to hold the veg in so I can quickly stuff and shake vegetation.

When you're tying the grass onto the suit with the paracord, what exactly are you tying the cord to? Are you tying multiple handfuls of grass to the same long piece of cord?
Usually yes. I’ll do several handfuls of grass in each tie. If the environment changes I can throw some small branches or something else on top of the grass that’s already tied down
@@Skullduggerous_pirate What is the cord attached to on the pants? How do you keep your vegetation on your body and not flopping around on the end of the cord?
@@RustyShackleford556 there is para cord sewed in a grid on the suit and I attach the ties to that. I have another video showing how I put the ties and jute on
Hey I was just wondering, what do you do if you’re mid stalk and need to change your veg? Do you just have to sneakily take off the suit and change the veg around as you try to stay low? And if that is what you do, how do you do it in a way that’s safe? Because I feel like that would be easy to spot. (Also thanks loads for the video, you’re a real help dude)

@@Skullduggerous_pirate Sorry, one more question. For the veg tie-downs I'm debating using the hollowed out 550 cord like you do or elastic shock cord. Is there a downside to using shock cord? What would you recommend?

So you’re suggesting using better artificial materials to avoid using more natural vegetation? Also, it’s not too time consuming at all. We see students veg up quickly every single class. Just have to know how to do it. There is no substitute for doing it the right way.
Yes, also because you can not always rely on vegetation completely, not always there is vegetation to apply, not always the environment suits such dynamics.
