Thank you for making this video and including this tip. My application is different but the results I think will be similar so I really appreciate it. I have been composting wood chips in a very tall pile for a year and a half. It was blended with manure and has made some very nice soil. I've deposited it in a checkerboard pattern in my pasture a half yard per pile. Following this process helped me keep the quantity fairly even. But of course there's a big gap between any four piles. I do have hog panels and dragging them behind the tractor will be very easy to do and I like the fact that it will eventually level those piles into one uniform thickness. Thank you again
Ive seen people pipe the exhaust from a tractor or small engine into the holes for about 15 min to fumigate their tunnels. I also like the shotgun method 😂
@@redriverliving Far better than poison! The rodenticides aren't safe to use as they bioaccumulate into predators such as foxes, dogs, raptors and owls....and the way they work is the animals bleed to death internally. It's not cool, and if your dog or cat eats a pocket gopher or vole that's been killed by the rodenticide, it will also suffer from massive internal bleeding and could die. Take it to the vet where they will administer potassium asap and you may save it. That's what the raptor hospitals have to do - if it's in time - Plus, the owls are the natural predators for the 13 lined ground squirrel/aka pocket gophers. If you want a healthier farm, the moles or voles or pocket gophers are less attracted to more moist soils. Encourage predator nesting by leaving larger dead trees standing, or at least the stem so you will have some natural predatory owls helping you out. I like the homemade drag! On our soils, which are more moist, I don't think a pickup truck is an option, but I bet I can get going fast enough with the ATV.
How are you not breaking the hog panel pieces by pulling on them? I’ve built something similar and it keeps breaking the little squares apart and then it’s no good
We have used a heavy duty chain that we loop throughout several sections in the panel. This way we are not just pulling from one section, it’s more evenly distributed.
I use cattle panels like this also........and also used chain link fence. Chain link follows the contour better.....but both work fine. Those are not moles.......and you corrected that at the end. They are golfers. I use only this trap. Theres a correct way to set them though. Never set a trap not knowing how. If you miss...... option " final attempt" attempt follows this link here ua-cam.com/video/8Rv7UNQ6bvk/v-deo.html Final attempt..... Buy yourself a 12 pack of beer..... ear plugs.......use a shot gun.....Open a hole up....and wait ! Hopefully all the beer isnt gone ......and you can still shoot when you see the golfer come out ! Shoot ! I also have sandy loam soils.......and when I moved here I caught over 200 golfers on 160 acres in the first year.. Ive tried many methods......the one that works best for me......is the good old " golfer trap " !!! Tried blasting.......tried exhaust.........tried LP gas.......and gas pellets use for grain bin treatment for bugs. Those work......but you cant buy them now because of controls. They are deadly ! A half pellet will kill the golfer in less then 5 min. I always found them just outside the hole ...with the hole still open. Get to work trapping !! You dont have that many golfers....just looks like it. Maybe...... 6. Cant tell by seeing the video. Who knows ?

I use a portable generator and some flex conduit attached to the exhaust. I pump it down the hole for 15-20 minutes to get the gophers.
Old tyres on top work for adding weight. Good work.
Great idea! Thanks for watching!
Making due. Every human being from centuries past. I love it. It’s gotta make sense! Take care.
Exactly! Thanks for watching!
We’d use about 8’ of cyclone fence with a couple of concrete blocks tied on with wire.
G,day over here in southern Australia dairy/small beef farmers have been do this for years it helps the grass re grow better etc good job cheers....
Thanks for sharing and watching! We are looking forward to all the benefits!
Wow, thanks for sharing. I was wondering if hog panel would work. Definitely going to make me one. What a difference nice work Sir.

Interesting! Might have to give the shotgun method a try! Thanks for watching!

Think it'd work for gravel?
How often would you drag like this in a horse pasture
How'd you hook the 4 panels together to make one drag? Wire then together?
We used baling wire to hold them together.
❤❤

Is there a video showing exactly how you made this?
Use bubble gum to treat for gopher s and you won't kill everything else around your pasture.

Golfers, huh?😂
Moles don't bother me😊
