"You know what they say about glitter? It's the herpes of the arts and craft movement." I got myself a good laugh and you got yourself a new subscriber 😂
Love what you did with orphan blocks from old quilts! And the music - piano- what I played in my 28 yr time- back in 55 yrs ago So back, the quilt was interesting to hear the details back from other quilts your Mom’s quilt! Fantastic! They - are - Great! Dear Dave and Mom! Love the historical comments! Sandi Myer!
Dave, Both, you and your mom are soooo blessed to have each other. Without knowing any of you personally, I can feel your love for each other and see what a wonderful mom she’s been to you and what a wonderful son you’ve been to her. Not everyone has that !!! Treasure and continue to enjoy your relationship. You both are GOLD 🥇🥇
This one, I could give a ton of thumbs up for. Priceless! I truly enjoy your videos every time. Cheesits quilt was the first one that i saw. Keep up the BeaYOUtiful work Dave. ❤️
Hey, Dave and Dave’s Mom! I love how this quilt came out. It’s amazing what you can do with those bonus blocks! I hope you include information re how this quilt cam3 to b3 on a label on the back for future generations. Perhaps even collab to write or ink-jet print the story on fabric and include it in a pocket on the back! Thank you for sharing your approach to the hand quilting! The first queen-size quilt that I made was before rotary cutters. It was a double Irish chain, cut out with a template, and I quilted it 1/4” on each side of the seams with it pinned between my knees-a technique taught in a book from the late 7s or early 80s. I can picture the cover of the book, but the name of the author escapes me at the moment. Thanks, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
Hi Dave’s mom, what a great idea for all your left over blocks, definitely going to do this. I also rescue quilt tops from thrift stores and estate sales. LOVE❤the finish quilt. Love your channel😊
My great aunt made me a pillow and round placemats and hot pad out of that fabric with the little girl and geese. I still have the hot pad. She was a fabulous quilter. My mom had her make me a wedding ring quilt that I cherish. Dave you are so talented.
you are just a huge genius! 😳And I'm so thankful that you share your source of creativity with us through UA-cam. ❤ Absolutely stunning! Thank you very much and please keep making videos for many more decades🥰🥰🥰
SO MANY FEELS. I inherited a bunch of blocks, my two machines, and literal garage full of fabric from my mom. You are so lucky to chat about them with your mom, and I love that you are clearly enjoying the time you get to share with her with these quilts.
My mom and I (plus a friend of hers and my sister) have been collecting orphan blocks for more than a decade. We probably have enough to make 3 quilts. But they sit in a box because we have no idea where to start. The concept of ‘neighborhoods’ makes me think we can finally have a place to get started. Thank you!
Dave, you inspired me to get my orphan blocks out of a box and make a quilt. I have some from quilts I’ve made and some are my Mom’s that she made that we found after she passed away. I also have some that my Great Grandmother made. Thanks for this wonderful video!
Fantastic quilt, and great mix of blocks, love the panel back. I’ve used the balance of leftovers fabric collections on the back of my quilt. It like having two quilts in one. Thanks for sharing, again great job. 👍❤️😊
Oh, Dave, I thoroughly enjoyed this video! You putting the pieces into their neighborhoods was fun to watch and so was the interview with Mom. Loved the out-takes too.
thank you for this video! I am in the process of making an orphan block quilt and found your process right up my alley. I love the design wall and totally wish I could quilt and sew that fast. :)
I like the idea of sending bonusblocks to other quilters (maybe around the world 🤔🌍📯), so we could watch what they create with our blocks 🤓. Feel free to send some of them to Germany... 😉. Again a fun and creative idea plus a 'bonus' mom 👍👏! Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed your video 🌹 You certainly have an eye for design. Especially liked the piano background music I thought it was very soothing as you were putting your orphan blocks up on the wall and creating a masterpiece.
Dave, for being orphan blocks, I am quite inspired at how beautiful the quiltturned out. Thank you for sharing your talent. I am going to make one of these out of my many orphan blocks, hopefully it will come out as nice as yours!
Design wall is my favorite part but in this video the interview with mom was priceless. You mom knows you well because only you can make a quilt out of those orphans
This video came at the right time. I have inherited UFO orphans from a lady who was very special to me and recently passed on. I also have pillow top panels. I love my crumb/scrap quilts that I normally make, so I know it would have to be similar. You did a great job with these orphans and I love the quilt top. We have very similar working styles. I enjoy watching your vidoes. Thank you.
Beautiful quilt! I would love to be given a bag like that to play with, but am completely stumped when I’m faced by my own orphan blocks or unfinished projects! Deb x 🤗
Wonderful job! Loved the whole video. Nice interaction with your Mom. I enjoyed second guessing where the blocks would en up. Amazing quilt - who would have thought those BONUS BLOCKS would become a really great quilt!?
The fact that you hand quilted these vintage, antique and tests is a testimony to the love you and your Mom share of quilting. Really neat! Better on a bed than in bags in a box.
You did a great job putting together the Bonus Block Quilt ! I have a lot of bonus blocks that need to be sewn together. I haven’t known how to go about it until I saw you do your Mother’s . I am going to use your method of “neighborhoods” to get it together !
I’m a new subscriber - your skill for taking orphaned blocks and making them into something so beautiful is simply amazing! I was mind blown 🤯! I have a TON of them and you’ve inspired me to make something from them (minus the hand quilting 😅) Happy quilting and hello to your mother!
Your mom has made some incredibly beautiful quilts. I like her style. I also like making the quilt tops more than anything else. I have heard that from several people.
Putting together orphan blocks is never easy, but you did a beautiful job. I have my mom's material from when she passed, but there were no orphan blocks. Cherish these things as we all remember our beautiful parents/grandparents...😊
Hi Dave's Craft Mom, What a great interview. You and Dave are so fortunate to have each other. Lot's of joy from both of you. By the way, I wouldn't have appeared on video either. The quilt is wonderful. Dave, your quilting freedom is refreshing. The musical score was perfect for this episode. J
Dave, this is my first time watching your channel, but it won’t be my last. I was mesmerized by the time-lapse of you using your design wall to create a cohesive and interesting quilt. You inspired me to start saving my orphan blocks, so thanks for that!
Great bonus block quilt, I'm with your mother, don't care for the label orphan block. Loved the sped up section of you figuring out the layout coupled with the piano. Fun. Gave me some ideas of how to make my own bonus block quilt. Thanks for another enjoyable, educational video.
This has been a great collaboration! The Bonus Blocks Quilt is fabulous, but the discussion afterwards between the two artists made it so much more interesting! And the backing ... I remember those!!! Thank you both!
This is so cool! I wouldn’t have thought it was going to be so organized and interesting from first glance at the blocks themselves. Wonderful job! You made moms blocks proud!
Your brain organizes those blocks in such a fun and easy way. You have a special talent. After the interview with your mom I thought you may have inherited a part of it from her….😁
6:57 pm Your collaboration wa such fun 🎉. I have some of those same mismatched blocks. The quilt is a lovely one of a kind project that both of you will cherish. You are so talented.
I wish I could like this twice. Thank you Dave and Dave’s Craft Mom.

That is a very quilty quilt! Nice finish! Looks great!
Such a cute collaboration.
Dave, you are a true artist to be able to make a quilt out of those BONUS BLOCKS
A wonderful thing to do for your Mom. She must be so relieved to have all these blocks used up and made into a beautiful work of art. 😀💖🌟

I love this interview with your mom & I love the quilt. I also really love your channel. You are really creative & talented!

Hi Dave’s mom, what a great idea for all your left over blocks, definitely going to do this. I also rescue quilt tops from thrift stores and estate sales. LOVE❤the finish quilt. Love your channel😊
My mother-in-law started making a Sunbonnet Sue in the early 1930's as a 11 or 12 year old. It was very popular back then.
My great aunt made me a pillow and round placemats and hot pad out of that fabric with the little girl and geese. I still have the hot pad. She was a fabulous quilter. My mom had her make me a wedding ring quilt that I cherish. Dave you are so talented.
Wow! You are way good at putting all this disparate blocks together! Inspirational! LOVE it!
This is a fabulous Collaboration with your mom!!! Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
Hi Dave’s Mom, your son did a beautiful quilt with all your blocks/ fabrics. Such a nice gesture to put things together.
Great quilt Dave. Using panels together for the backing is very clever.👏♥️🇦🇺
Every couple of years, my grandmother sends me a tide box full of orphans
Oooo you’re so lucky!💜💗💚
“Greetings all, and welcome to Dave’s Craft Mom.” Love it!

It takes such talent to take totally unrelated blocks and make something so wonderful! I love it!
Hello to Dave's Mum from Australian quilters. Enjoy your son's creativity and humour.
Me too!😍
Fantastic quilt, and great mix of blocks, love the panel back.
Great choice of music.
What a cool project. It was so nice to hear your mom talk about the different pieces.
thank you for this video! I am in the process of making an orphan block quilt and found your process right up my alley. I love the design wall and totally wish I could quilt and sew that fast. :)
Your videos are super fun and always a great reminder that I need to loosen the hell up in my sewing, you are a true artist. Dave is my spirit animal!
I love this…loosen the hell up! Ditto!😁
The quilt is so unique!! Love it!! You did a FABULOUS job young man.

You AND your work are AMAAAAZING!!! You never disappoint! I like that frame!
This is so neat. So glad your mom gave you these blocks.
Beautiful, thank you Dave. I love your composition of orphan blocks. You have given me ideas for putting my orphan blocks together.

This is SO funny I meant to tell everyone I take exception to that statement. I LOVE glitter!😄
I like it too but it surely does spread everywhere 😳😩😂😂👨🏻
@@davescraftroom🤣💁♀️😎 that’s part of why I like it…Everything sparkles!😁
Another fabulous quilt and video! Hi Mom!
I love your channel. ❤️ I’m retired and should be getting as much done as you do! My guilt trip bags are always packed.
We all need a design wall like you I think it makes it easier being able to step back and see the design 😀great work
I can see from some of the blocks she was working on an Irish chain quilt. Ohhhh you should do one!!
Dave, this is my first time watching your channel, but it won’t be my last. I was mesmerized by the time-lapse of you using your design wall to create a cohesive and interesting quilt. You inspired me to start saving my orphan blocks, so thanks for that!

Love the ducks or Geese- so pretty!
Beautiful quilt
It looks very eclectic
Dave I’m a fan! Hugs from a fellow male crafter from Provence, Adrien
Just discovering you! What a trip! Love your creative process and style.
Love it! It's beautiful ❤️
What a great thing to share with your mom!
Very interesting video and a lovely quilt.
OMG I found that same Dresden Plate pillow panel in blue in a box of my mother's stuff. I made a runner out of it for the top of my dresser.
I think it would be great to call it the “Adopted Block Quilt”
That was so cute. Enjoyed seeing the interaction between you and your mom.
Love this quilt ❤ Freddie Moran calls them parts quilts.
Genius! Love it
Looks great.
