In need of help. Oneplus One is finally coming to India in December. Also Android 5.0 Lollipop is going to be released on devices soon. Since Oneplus One has a 32-bit processor, is it worth it to buy it in December 2014?
I really enjoy my Nexus 5 but after seeing this video I will upgrade but I am going to wait after all this madness bullshit calms down so I'll probably buy the phone in January or February
The Tech Ninja Oh yeah, I didn't take that into consideration. Technically the could switch cameras but I'm not sure if there's a good enough camera that records in 60 Fps.
portjon97 there are a few. Just it's a rare to find it in a dslr now days. I'm sure when we start getting 4k cameras 1080p 60 will be just an after thought. Plus 60fps looks kinda funky for people and speech.
The Tech Ninja It looks 'funky' to people that have not experienced 60 Fps before and are not used to it. It's way smoother whether you are watching an anime or Lord of the Rings. I watch all movies I can in 60 Fps with the use of interpolated frames. It's not as good as true 60 Fps but it's really smooth.
That's what I said also. Fun fact: I bought a used Nexus 6 with a screen that was literally falling off for $33.56 on eBay. I got that fixed for around $90
I really want this but it has no features that take advantage of the big screen. Would be really nice if it had the Multi Window feature that was rumored awhile ago. Also the battery doesn't seem like it lasts as long as a Note 4.
***** you don't get it do you. Samsung is charging people $800 for features on the note that they can get for next to nothing if they take just a little time. I have a 5.7 inch ZTE ZMAX that does everything a Samsung can do (except the s pen) and I didn't pay $800 dollars for it. I simply added from the play store what I wanted. Plus the ZMAX battery life blows away Samsung and Nexus. All those features that people keep talking about do not justify the high price that people pay.
***** nope you still don't get it. There is no such thing as a flagship phone. That's nothing but marketing and hype. I bet you don't even know about the camera scam. Since the majority of the pics people that people take are going on the Internet a 8mp camera will work just as well as a 20 mp, there would only be difference if you made a actual hard copy. You still have a lot to learn grasshopper.
***** As a T-Mobile salesman how can you be falling victim to the same con that you are supposed to be putting over on people. Ask yourself if advertising didn't exist and people walked in and saw a Samsung on sale for $800 you think they would buy it? Hell no. They only buy it because they are like sheep who have been told where to graze. Samsung sells people cheap plastic Korean junk packaged as luxury phones. Just because you are a salesman doesn't mean you have some absolute knowledge. You actually think that plastic Samsung stuff is high end. The Note is the only thing they make that is built worth anything. Most of the features on phones like the S5 don't even work. Here you are on this thread with all that salesman talk. That may work on the fools that walk in your store but it will never work on those who know.
Wow ***** I take back every bad thing I said about you. I have to admit that this was a very exceptional review. I know you have some strong opinions on the Nexus 6 yet I never for once felt like you were imposing it in your full review. Everything was informative, unbiased and well shot. Awesome review. 👍👌👏 ***** seems you got a bit of competition here. 😉
Your review says only 12hrs of battery, The Verge says a day and a half to two days.. Hopefully these reviews aren't as inconsistent as the Nexus 9 reviews.
All depends on what you're doing with your screen on time too. Screen in time reading a book on a Amoled screen for two hours versus playing a game, browsing the web, multitasking and so on will drain it way faster. Everything is subjective and/or independent on how and what your usage is like. JSantana319
This was the first ever video that I watched when I was looking for a brand new Android Smartphone what started out as a means to get a new Nexus 6 turned into a fascination into the tech/mobile world. I'm proud to say that Android Authority has been giving me lots of good content over the years and I thank other Tech UA-cam channels like MrMobile, MKBHD, Austin Evans, and many more into helping me get into this new hobby,
+Mairaj Moon it's a tough phone to I've dropped it so many time on the concrete with no case and no cracks it still works only thing I've noticed when it drops is that back cover opens a little bit even though it's not a removable back but if you try hard enough you can open it up

I am an avid reader or should i say watcher? lol... love your reviews. just keep them coming. as of today. Canadian release seems to be the 18th of NOV. I was really ready to order it but, after watching your reviews, decided not to. was expecting little bit more screen on time than 4~5hrs... if you could touch little bit more on display side of the things (technical stuff) that would save me from watching a video review of some other guy talking on other reviews but, all in all you are my fav. reviewer on the tube andI do appreciate all your reviews. just wanted to write something to say thanks! haha
I saw what you did there with that Drake reference at the end. This phone has a lot of cool features and the only thing that bothered me was the battery life. Were you testing the device with screen brightness on high or medium? What if you were to do a test with battery savings on all the time where the screen brightness was low?
Great review other than battery life. Ive had mine for roughly 2 weeks now and have experienced great battery life. Lasting well beyond 12 hours with moderate use.
Great review! I preordered my N6 last night for AT&T. I had heard about the battery life not being spectacular, but still bearable. I also heard about the materials used to build it. That point really was a non-issue for me, since I always wrap my phones in a TPU or rubberized case, and slap on a screen protector to keep my phone as immaculate as possible. I was mostly concerned about the speed and the latency, and your review covered it. Thank you =)
Hope to be getting this phone in about of a month. Only the second smartphone I've had. But now that I can get it for $350, it's totally worth the price!
I think the problem you had with the ambient display (or at least what you showed in the video) was the phone has to sit idle and you have to put it down and pick it back up again, its a little bit different that the moto X.
Couldnt help but notice the differing opinions on battery life as compared to the review from The Verge. Cited as easily reaching one and a half days, as compared to barely a full day on this review, im concerned about this variance. As someone who cares for a long battery life, should i be worried?
I would get this, but like the IPhone 6 Plus, it doesn't take advantage of the large screen as much as I would like. I went for the Note 4, multi tasking is amazing with it, and the various S Pen functions (as well as the pen itself) are much more handy than I thought it would be.
Actually, there IS an LED notification light in the phone, it's placed right in the middle of the top speaker... check out XDA on ways to activate it..
Most of us just got a new phone between 6 months and now for around $600 from Galaxy s5 ,Xperia z 2 ,Htc M8 and Iphones , why would we go and loose half of what we already spend on this new Nexus ? The question is only one ! Does this worth upgrading from HTC M8 , GALAXY S5 , IPHONE 6 ,NOTE 3 ,XPERIA Z2 ?
I just bought this phone from T-Mobile and I have to say, I am impressed. Even on T-mobile's flaky coverage, I was able to get reception where my Note 2 would struggle. This thing is just so fast. I still can't get over just how fast it is. Not just fast in terms of response time, but also connectivity. I'm very happy with this phone and I would recommend this phone to anyone, even those that are not fans of the Nexus line of phones. The Tmobile version only has one app installed, and it can be uninstalled! That's how all carriers should do phones. I dont mind having preinstalled apps as long as they can be removed, especially on Nexus phones!
Thanks Josh. Great job! Have you had a chance to put it on a Qi charger yet? And, did you look for any 'WakeLock' issues, that may be affecting the battery life?
Screen comment not quite accurate. You're not supposed to be blown away by hi res stats as opposed to 1080p. You need to realize that it is ppi that is important. 1080p is already on standard sized phones, but that same spec on a 6" screen would lose pixel density and would look grainy. Same thing as going with a 1080p tv that's 70"- it'll look like garbage next to a 40 or 50 inch with same 1080p.

What's the car comparison about....??
Test the storage. I've seen very bad read performance numbers putting loading times on the Nexus 6 on par with the old Nexus 4.
Admit it- you are looking at this video because of the price reduction and want to make a judgement
omfg ...so true😂
+Alex Simmonds Price reduction? Lol.. Not if you're living in The Netherlands.
Got an 1+2 anyways
+Alex Simmonds yes

I think these reviews would really benefit from 60 Fps. It would be much easier for the viewers to see how smooth exactly a phone is.
Not sure if the Lumix does 1080p 60fps. Many DSLR's still can't pull off this feat.
The Tech Ninja Oh yeah, I didn't take that into consideration. Technically the could switch cameras but I'm not sure if there's a good enough camera that records in 60 Fps.
this is good enough, wont get any better until you have the phone in hand in person

I'm sticking with my iPhone 6. It can bend, and charge in the microwave. Can the android 6 do that? I think not!
3:17 the reason the upgrade isn't noticeable is because video streaming outputs max out at 1080p, ruling quad hd displays needless.

Motorola está de parabéns esse ano. A LG precisa fazer um bom s serviço com o G4 para não perder mercado.
Mesmo fazendo um bom serviço no G4 ela vai ter somente o g4 contra Max e Nexus.
Saulo vc sabe me dizer o q fazer se meu g2 nao marca cidade correta no clima? Cloudy g3.
Vai lá em configurações da localização e tire da opção de somente marcar localização.
Ugh, I've been waiting forever for this review. Thank you so much Josh.
Absolutely amazing !!
As said this phone is a priced possession for those who have already experienced Phablets and especially who seeks "Purest Google Experience" !
----------- Plus -----------
* Android 5.0 [L]ollipop
* 6" display [for people who loves phablets and experienced it]
* Pure Google/Android experience without any overlays of other brands like samsung touch wiz etc which reduces the performance
* Instant updates straight from Google
* Soft keys [No Hard keys, No capacitive keys = Saves space]
Capacitive & Hard keys are exactly the one's, i hate with samsung devices !!
* Dual Front mounted speakers [Finally,absolute position to place the speakers]
* Finally, great camera quality in Nexus series 13MP with OIS
* Water resistant (IP67)
* AMOLED was good choice compared to iPS LCD
* Snapdragon 805 2.7Ghz [can't get any better for a beast]
* 4K Video recording 2160p [uHD]@30fps with OIS
* 2560 x1440 QHD with almost ~500ppi [finally something better than 1080p], still the aspect ratio is 16:9, so no problem playing 1080p videos
* Wifi a/b/g/n/ac
----------- Minus -----------
* No IR Blaster [Very bad as can't operate the mobile as universal remote]
* No fingerprint reader [would really be good replacement for pattern lock]
* No notification LED's
* No option to extend memory by sd card
* Non removable battery
* No Micro USB 3.0 [for much higher data transfer speed and current output]
* Expected at least 3500 mAh battery for massive screen
* Expected at least 2.0 to 2.5 Amps charger, but just got around 5V/1.5 Amps charger though it charges fast via turbo option.
Apart from all these + and -, the Nexus 6 Phablet is super sexy, and pure google phablet, so i would definitely recommend it.
If Motorola/Google were to address all the improvements specified above in upcoming Nexus models, then it would surely wipe the market out !!

I am really struggling between the Nexus 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus :/
0-100 real quick
This phone is simply amazing. I have had it for 4 days now and I am love with it. I have no complaints in my part and I am overall very satisfied with it.

Darklight2360 I know you are hurt I like that
Would you prefer this phone over the note 4?
It's not only bigger; it's also larger.
Very informative....
Battery should not be a problem once you flash custom Kernels. My Nexus 4 battery was horrible with stock ROM, Kernel.
Hi, may I know the name of the game play on 3:42?
Awesome review and that metaphoric comparison with the Super car nailed the conclusion. Great work Android Authority
Great video! I'll be picking this up on AT&T next week hopefully. I'm a faithful note user so the size shouldn't be much of an issue to me!
I love my Nexus 6!!! Going on since 2016!!!!
Great review Josh as always!

Great review Android Authority!

Great video Android Authority!
Couldnt help but notice the differing opinions on battery life as compared to the review from The Verge. Cited as easily reaching one and a half days, as compared to barely a full day on this review, im concerned about this variance. As someone who cares for a long battery life, should i be worried?
Will screen protectors ruin the nice curve of the glass at the sides?
Is it that lollipop wasn't optimized why his battery couldn't pass the 5hr mark?
I would get this, but like the IPhone 6 Plus, it doesn't take advantage of the large screen as much as I would like. I went for the Note 4, multi tasking is amazing with it, and the various S Pen functions (as well as the pen itself) are much more handy than I thought it would be.
Is he at JustKidding HQ at 2.30?
The device with a cellular contract should be cheaper right?
What's the game called at 3:40
Awesome review, I really wish the back plate was changeable like the Moto X.
Which video editor are u guys using???? Plz tell
Gonna have to go with the Note. Removable battery and SD slot are important to me.
Can anyone tell me what's the game at 3:45? thanks
25 months later, this phone is still a beast!
Rich Bridges late 2018?
Apart from the dogfight regarding phones and commenting about them, this review was amazing. Best I've seen for a phone so far.
Great vid! Even if I wasn't into what was presented in the video, you can always enjoy Josh's quality voice-over. +1
whats that game at 3:40 min?
Your new hairstyle is nice :) +Joshua vergara
Android Authority Do the white version get dirty easily? I like the white version more than the Midnight Blue, but I'm afraid of dirt.
The great reviewer! Josh!
Thanks Josh. Great job!
Have you had a chance to put it on a Qi charger yet? And, did you look for any 'WakeLock' issues, that may be affecting the battery life?
josh does an amazing job with review and i think he is one of the best online today keep up the good work josh android authority is blessed to have u
3:41 what game is this?
I definitely plan on getting it after its first price drop or sale, but until then, honestly, the Nexus 5 is still far more than adequate.
whats the game at 3:40?
Ru going to do a a drop test on the nexus 6
It does a notification light but you have to root your device to be able to use it
