  • These are all pre-electric Hawaiian steel guitar. Recorded between 1929 & 1934 (all but one was from 1934). Most were under the name SOL K. BRIGHT AND HIS HOLLYWAIIANS. The photo is from the Steel Guitar Forum with the two outer photos from The Guitar Database. Note= The outer Tricone Guitar is NOT Sol's personal guitar!

    Amazing ! some rare stuff , thanks Chris for posting this historic music . I am the proud owner of a 1928 National Hawaiian German Silver style 1. That looks like a style 2 in the photo . Incredible instruments

    I used to have some of these the Sol K Bright recordings from a pal via Bob Brozman. It really widened my musical horizons developing a love for this amazing Polynesian music. Thanks, I lost my tapes ❤
