Yes they do OK outside June to October. They soon start dying off when the cooler nights come. You can't beat the foliage/ colors for tropical effect 👌
@juliebrace8637 They will rot if left in the ground. When they start dying down lift and cut off foliage and roots. Dry store overwinter and start them off in spring same as you would for colocasia 👍

Bird of paradise is lovely. I got a small one at Wilko. Its now four foot tall
