I was saying that lineup was Top Heavy and my sister starts laughing. The Yankees lineup had big boobs lol. No. But they had the best 1-5 ever in 2009 thanks to Matsui.
Streaky hitter. When he was in the groove he could hit anybody. When he wasn't he couldn't hit anybody. All around a very good player but not a legend. Also, we paid for King Kong but got Paul O'Neill.
How good was Hideki MatsuI? One of the best postseason hitter, ever. The closest player in terms of postseason prowess is Yuki Yanagita of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, who looked like him (Giita is slightly taller and lankier while having somewhat identical profile to the Gojira). Not Jeremy Pena, nor Corey Seager, nor Randy Arozarena, nor Jorge Soler.
Die hard Sawx fan here. Nothing but respect for Matsui. Dude was a hitting machine. One of the most underrated ball players in recent memory.
One of the best Yankees.
Should create an International Baseball Hall of Fame for former Japanese, Latin, and American players who cross over and achieve greatness.
A LEGEND!
I hated the Yankees as a kid, but always respected Matsui. Great hitter.
Easily one of the best Japanese to play
I wouldn't put him ahead of Ichiro.
Gotta love Matsui.
Humble and a Monsters Decisive Player
A great baseball player
First Ballot easy One of the few who came to Ny with Stardom. Which he not only fulfilled but Surpassed. The Lights were never to bright for him.
Love the vid. But the mariner you show in the beginning is Kazuhiro sasaki, a pitcher…

0:52 Did you run out of clips of Matsui?

Good career and solid player but is not HOF
Maybe like Sabonis he can get in

Stopped hitting for the 2004 ALCS in the last three games when they really needed him.
