People bashing this guy on this video are being totally unfair. Sure, synthesizers might not exactly be in his wheelhouse, but check out the video on his channel with him twinkling the keys on his Triton. The man can play, without doubt.
why not get the alesis micron S/H on ebay or see if your local store stocks one, cause thats what the miniak is, just with a diff paint job, a gooseneck mic and a slight tweak to the presets.
Akai Miniak has the same sound engine as the Alesis Micron, but in a differently styled plastic housing, and with three modulation wheels instead of the Micron's two sliders plus one wheel. Unlike the Micron, the Miniak standard comes with a gooseneck microphone.
If your synth lacks spectral punch, see if the muting FETs need replacement or removal. Most of the Microns and Miniaks suffer from this at this point.
You may notice loss of volume, bass, and/or high-end. Join the basically defunct yahoo users group to read more about it and download patches by detpurroc and uralmoto (and others) that are superior to stupid factory patches that helped kill its market viability.
yessss good demo thx now i liked miniac i am thinkink to buy but i need a idea here is my favorits korg r3 (half radias) :) ,novatıon ultranova( fat voicec) maybe you can help me ths again...
leave the man alone, he's just messing about. Demo means someone shows you what the machine can do, not the player ( at least player to lesser extent). peace out
You're kidding, right? For one thing, this is just a demo. He's showing you what the machine can do; he's not showing off his keyboard-playing skills. For another, synth playing isn't about technique.
So what...the arpeggios do most of the work anyway....all layered over corny beats, it like a cheap casio toy or cheap 70s/80s film soundtrack....I am sure those sounds can be used in musical setting though...the synth itself is versatile and warm and squishy analog good
Thanks for the demo, I found it very helpful. It really shows what this unit can do in a live performance, instead of just listing the specs.
Best demo I found so far while trying to figure out whether the keys are worth getting.
Great demo, showing just a sample of the amazing power of this synth.
Thank you
The keyboard is doing all the work.
Is the 303 emulation deliberatly at 3:03 ?!

Great demo man, thanks! :)

is there a tutorial available?

Is the Alesis Miniak different from the Alesis Micron?

It's a problem they nearly all come down with to one degree or another at this age. Just giving you a head's up.

I lost interest after a couple of minutes of this video ...
That made no sense. No sense at all. I'm supposed to not believe my ears. Not my eyes or just my eyes ...
This guy can't play very well.

Awful keyboard playing skills.
