- Cadillac CTS-V. 400hp ls6 Corvette derived engine. Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. 18 wheels. Brembo brakes. A fantastic package, when everything is working properly. Why does the CTS-V vibrate so much? These vehicles are well known for issues regarding motor mounts and harmonic balancer issues.

Why do you think it's the harmonic balancer? Does it vibrate while idling or reving? If not i would look into driveline issues - driveshaft balancing, U-joints/flex joints, differential pinion bearing and differential set up.
Hi, Petar. The engine should be butter smooth. The harmonic balancer & engine mounts were replaced back in 2011 for the exact same reasons; vibration between 1800-3200 rpms. And it looks to me there's a slight wobble. I'll be replacing soon since I do plan on keeping this vehicle for quite some time.

If it just sat for a long time, the tires likely have flat spots.
Thanks, Oldschooldude. I'm afraid there's vibration while simply revving the engine.
Pull the belt & see if it's still there. You can narrow things down that way. Good luck. A gentleman suggested a warped flywheel. That isnt out of the realm of possibility. Hate to think it's a bottom end issue.

127k. Harmonic balancer & engine mounts were replaced by the dealer under warranty in 2011. However, the balancer doesn't look perfect to me. I also noticed a bit a fraying on the drive belt; indicating the rotation of the crank pulley isn't dead on perfect.
