And if you watch the game you should be able to identify the missing link in England attacking play which is not functioning number 10 role by Foden and it looks to me like inactive and out from order of the tactical play.
Palmer, Gordon, Mainoo and Rice done their job very well but because of the missing link, England hardly getting the goal.

After watching them tonight, they have no chance
No chance but there are many bright side like Palmer, Gordon, Guehi, Mainoo, Rice, Trippier who have outstanding performance.
England shouldn't have been losing if Southgate made the correct decision and tweaking by taking off Foden instead of Palmer and Gordon while move Palmer to play in 10 role and Saka in right winger. It was because of Foden that made England lacking the goal, he rarely made any dangerous movement nor any dangerous passing. In the 60' minutes Southgate should change the formation but it is the same old Southgate who always made the wrong decision when it's needed like against Croatia and Italy (Euro final).
It's mainly a Southgate problem. If they play Bellingham and Rice holding midfield and swap between palmer or Foden as the AF just behind Kane (if Foden is not the AF then stick him on the right). They need to be pragmatic and just understand you can't put a 19 year old with little pedigree as a starter in DM.
Mainoo and Wharton will definitely be good to come on as subs in DM but shouldn't start often. I think clever management would have been to start Alexander arnold against Iceland with Rice then sub on mainoo.
Anyway England will be far better come tournament time. Germany were always famous for having a dodgy performance just before tournaments and then winning them all. Also Saka will start and he is 10x the player Gordon is currently.
So when Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia in the last World Cup you’d have been that guy to say the same yeah? Awesome. Getting behind the lads is what they need, not negativity.

@@TheAdmiral1991 They've got a punchers chance in any game with that forward lineup, my main point is the medias consistent xenophobic stance with other teams, how are England always favourites when they've won nothing in my 50 years, apparently they're always a team of worldies but in reality there's maybe 1 or 2 top quality players and the rest are average European level players who only shine when surrounded by better players from other countries in their respective club sides. All I ask for is a bit of reality instead of building a team up just to knock them down again.

H is proper adorable and endearing tbf, even as a dad in his 30s. He has this intrinsically earnest, gentle, innocent quality that draws people in. Can see why Southgate's always been love with him.
This same quality though makes me wonder why he ever was made the Skipper. He's the perfect talisman and number 9, inspirational and a role model, but no kind of leader. Unless it comes to goalscoring, he's about as intimidating as a marshmallow. If you want to project arrogance and confidence, grit, fire, hunger and will to win, or put doubt and fear into opposition, you need someone like Henderson, or Pickford, or Madders, or even Jude to give these statements instead.
The problem with the england side is they a big week in week out players harry kane the most do a job every week but big occasions they do not come out on top

I'd love to see England win it but a lot depends on Southgate's selection and approach. If we are positive, with the young players we have at our disposal, we'll go far - but I fear we'll go ultra defensive again. 🙄

People disrespect Southgate a lot and although he might be too conservative at times or outclassed at the finish line, to get to this point is already super hard and his success with England is undeniable.
