12:03 The 2 Entertain release of Calling all Engines (and maybe other 2 Entertain Thomas releases. I don't know as this is the only 2 Entertain release I own) has an advert for uk Thomas dvds after the main feature. Don't know if it counts as a trailer though. 14:02 The 2012 release of the complete series one (And maybe a few other complete series dvds) Has the Hit era intro theme play twice in the main menu if you don't select anything however if you are to select episode selection or subtitles, then return to the main menu it plays the Hit era intro theme once and then plays puffing sounds. Great video by the way
Fun fact: In germany Thomas and the spaceship was called “Percy sees a spaceship” but when it was released on DVD the ep was called Thomas and the spaceship. I know this from my german best youtube friend Thomas Take n play 24
Fun facts about dvds in my country (Romania): 1. Season 8 was released twice. Once in 2007-2008 and then in 2012. Same with Calling all engines in 2008 and 2011 but the 2011 version was renamed to “The way to new destinations” Romania’s version of “Making tracks to great destinations” 2. Cassette 1 and 2 were released in romanians via two DVDs: Thomas and the trucks and Thomas and Percy. Same with Season 2. With two releases titled: Thomas and the great escape and Thomas comes to breakfast 3. Thomas and the trucks dvd featured A friend in need cover 4. Thomas and Percy dvd featured a No sleep for Cranky picture on a S1 dvd 5. Thomas and the great escape dvd featured CAE artwork 6. The first ever Thomas DVD had Thomas and the fireworks display out of sync and ocasionally had miliseconds of a red screen. 7. The final 13 seconds of one of the calling all engines releases had a black screen 8. The first 5 Thomas DVDs feature Season 8 in it’s production order cause it was the first season dubbed on Minimax
I can actually answer the question brought up in Fact 1 - the two other proposed names for the DVD were First Class Journeys and No. 1 Collection. At the time I remember thinking the latter title was a bit rubbishy sounding
13:40 I think you know that in The US, there are a lot of All Engines Go DVDs being produced as NCircle Entertainment (The Company who Produced a lot of DIC Shows on DVD) Distributes Them. I'm so Glad All Engines Go DVDs are Still Being Released in The US! Anyways Great Video!☺️☺️😊😊
Sad to hear DVDs in the UK weren't doing too well. America still has DVDs right now, but I think the smart thing is to keep DVDs, Blu-Ray, 4K and streaming around the same time, because DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K are part of the digital age just like streaming, too. Heck, putting in more shows made exclusively for streaming onto DVD will make the streaming companies a lot more money. Shows like Arcane and Animaniacs 2020 (the first two seasons at least) for example may have been streaming on Netflix and Hulu, but even then, they were put on DVD.
Considering the release histories of both DVDs, I kind of have the feeling that Tales from The Tracks was originally planned to be released by VCI before they closed down and became 2Entertain and that the UK version of Carnival Capers was originally planned for a 2008 release and would have most likely been released on behalf of 2Entertain.
Oh man, I remember having the engines and escapades DVD, although the one I have was the US one. The scenes where they played the welcome to the narrow gauge railway scene and the dear Christopher really stuck to me as a kid
Quite an interesting video as I don't own any Thomas DVDs, however I used to own a few thomas VHS, but I gave them to my cousin when he was little who still has them.
For Fact 48, that does remind me of how US fans got the Early Years with our first instance of the UK narration including the British slang - I was certainly off-put by that at first, but I slowly warmed up to them.
I really enjoyed this video and learned many new things! I have lots of US DVDs and know lots about them, so I might do a similar video to this but about US DVDs.
Hi there! Fantastic video, I actually learnt more than I thought haha. I am curious though, about the US dub blunder on the Team Up with Thomas DVD. Are those for the earlier releases? Cause on my DVD it's perfectly intact as the UK dub haha
15:22 I don’t understand why both you and the series wiki said this. I own this DVD and know for a fact that it features the original UK dub of this segment.

One fact about UK dvds is that they use the UK dub instead of the US dub
Ah yes, the canon dub.
