Great job. This is the type of content people are interested in. I have a Kraken low mount with a GT2554R. Running 8psi @ 216whp with a MS2 on stock bottom end. Heat management using vented hood, larger aluminum radiator with dual fans, oil cooler, coolant reroute, mishimoto intercooler and 180 themostat. No heat problems on 95 degree track days.
I'm putting a top mount 2560r kraken kit on my 01 in a bit here and your video helped a ton in making sure I bought all the supplemental parts I'm gonna need. Keep up the good work!

Bought a bunch of supporting stuff already (cooling upgrade, supermiata clutch/flywheel, MS3 ecu, wheels/tires, brakes etc). For brakes I went with the g-loc pads from super miata + new OEM style rotors + supermiata brake lines, I like them so far.
Rad bro , always good to see a felow boosted miata brotha ... i went stupid forged engine ect and push 30psi on a gtx3071r gen 2 😅 its a lil extreme tbh but they are sooo sooo much fun ... i love how clean your build is brotha and its stance is minty fresh 😅... peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z fam and always have fun... ps get you a good set of oil catch cans one for each side .. port the air ways in the valve cover and have atleast one on a suction to pre turbo so it helps pull the pressure out ... maybe that help and deff a aftermarket damper will gi e a lil peace of mind lol l8z fam

For brakes, just do a sport brake kit upgrade. Had the wilwoods and they’re not very good, and they would eat away at the rotors. What I’ve done and worked very well with multiple track days in the summer heat, sport brake upgrade: air brake ducting: and some high temp 660 brake fluid
When you're building the motor, definitely add a reroute. They're relatively inexpensive and help A LOT. Even if you dont need it, you will be glad to have the peace of mind. It's WAY harder to do with the engine in, so do it while you've got it out.

Sorry it took me so long to reply lol, I have Flyin Miata's downpipe heat sheild, and intake box. I also opted for the gold foil tape and their crossflow radiator/hoses. I drove the car this summer in Texas with no issue. The coolant re-routes are super popular but for my build it did not seem necessary.
I did the FM intake box, downpipe heat shield, FM cross flow radiator and silicone hoses. No re route yet, it used to overheat in the summer on the stock rad, it’s a must to get the cross flow.

I have all this except the vented hood and my car can't keep cool under 90k/h. Bled the system 3 times already.

Also, can you elaborate on your heat management mods? Turbo blanket or heat shield (I’ll be using FM’s shield)? DIY intake air box?

How many miles are on the engine? Just curious since you mention blow by. I am about to do the same turbo kit on my 97 but I only have 58k miles.

No it’s mainly the oil smell, pretty bad not cause of the kit but my motor has lots of miles
