If you do a lot of plowing you'll want to replace that winch cable with a synthetic winch rope. I got so fed up with the winch cable breaking so much that I had to try something different. I put the synthetic rope on three winters ago and I'll never use a cable again. By the way, great DIY plow.
Thanks! I still use the cable in the video, but I don't plow very much. How's the synthetic rope holding up in time? Doesn't it require much maintenance?
@@BogdanCristian The synthetic rope is working great. I put it on three winters ago and it hasn't broke, or even frayed yet. And I do a lot of plowing. No it does not require any maintenance.
@@fourbyfourer You are supposed to wash and dry it out if it ever gets muddy, wet, or dirty. The dirt works it's way into the inner strands and acts like an abrasive destroying the rope from the inside out. I'm 100% with ya on rope over cable.
Honestly, this build has a great design to it. I bet this will work well and last a long time, however, I would imagine you could have easily purchased one for less than this cost and would've only taken a couple of minutes to install...
Thanks! Surprisingly, building it on my own cost me about half the price of a new one at that time. It's still holding very good, there are just some spots where it started to rust but other than that it's in great shape!
Great design, very well build...Imma copy paste it :D Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the appreciation! 👍
Give as some snow plowing action! Nice assembly.

Great job looks like factory.

Foarte bine lucrat !! Cam cat m.ar costa daca ar fi sa imi construiesti unul?? Bineînțeles daca doresti sa faci asta !!
Why not Use a car scissor jack for changing blade angle?
Hey. Would you give me a technical diagram to build an arctic cat plow?
Madmax28512 Sorry, I don't have complete building plans, but I can measure general dimensions of the plow though, if this could help you.
I am particularly interested in the dimensions of the quick fix for 6 minutes of your video.
heeey...you havent paint inside of profiles...:P :D
very nice idea with winch...:)
