Great video, but what is a great handheld ultrasound for performing regional anaesthesia?

Hi. Very nice video, thank you for making it. I have a question also. Do you know, Vscan Air does have M mode possibility?

Nope it doesn't as far as I am concerned. When I tested it, the only modes available were B mode and color doppler...

new Vscan now adds M mode and PW doppler. I’m waiting for CW doppler and tissue doppler haha.. you can’t have everything for a good price, yet, I guess.

Which is the best probe for cardiac pocus? Lumify phased probe? Eagleview? Or GE V Scan? Are other probe i don't know? For me the best aspect is the quality of the image, and for cardiac assesment there's no probe that is good enough in my opionion. Please help me.

Hello Federico, if you’re only going to do cardiac pocus, you can reviews of the ones you said plus four others (clarius, Butterfly, Kosmos (soon to be uploaded) and vinno) in my youtube channel. All of them have worse image quality than cart machines (logically, due to the cheaper price), just have that in mind. There are basically two big families of probes: the specific for cardio (=phased array probes) that allows slightly better views (specially A4C) due to smaller footprint and the multipurpose ones (=convex probe that concentrates the beam in the center) with which it may be harder to obtain that… I don’t like to recommend one brand or another, I prefer to show the images and features of all the devices and let you decide by yourself based on what you value the most. All I can say is that if price is a constraint, IMHO the EagleView has the best image quality-price ratio (3170$), but if you want the best image quality no matter what (even if price is x2-3 higher, I think it’s around 8000$ but not sure), then I would recommend you have a look at the Kosmos.

@@mastersofultrasound thanks for the answer. And what about Philips Lumify? I daily use the Linear probe and it has a very good quality image in my opinion for lung ultrasound, soft tissue and vascular imaging. I don't know the quality of cardiac imaging with phased probe.

I havent tested it. Unless you have an android wouldnt recommend it bc of the bulky battery required… but if you’re satisfied with the device and you’re planning to expand it to cardiac as well definitely go for it! I would ask your local rep for a try just to be sure it fits your demands :)
