Congratulations on your first pair of flamenco shoes. I love mine! Im no expert, but, I didI get some great advice from flamenco dancers in my research for purchasing flamenco shoes.
First, Spain is THE BEST place to get them!
Secondly, is that it’s better to wear flamenco shoes without socks to keep your feet from slipping within the shoes. It will give you better support overall and help prevent injuries. You just have to be patient in the breaking in period.
Thirdly, when choosing leather vs. suede uppers keep in mind that leather will last longer than suede and keep in consideration that suede stretches quite a bit so a smaller size might be better. I suggest communicating with the supplier about materials and sizing for that reason.

You should check out zapatos de baile flamenco they offer custom sizes! If you’re close to the LA area I highly recommend going to Durans dance shoes in Boyle Heights! And thank you so much for your kind words! It makes me so happy that my videos are helping you out!

Wow!! Those are really nice shoes. And yes quality is more $$. I tell the girls buy cheap dont be complaining that your feet are uncomfortable, that the shoe broke vs dancing in some good shoes that will last you a good while!

Yes, I personally love getting my shoes custom made to my size! I think once you have a solid 3 years it’s time to consider semi-professional/ professional shoes especially if you plan on dancing folklórico for a long time.

I get them at a few places such as Olvera St in downtown LA next to Chinatown, Anaheim indoor Marketplace, Stanton Swapmeet, Mariachi connection (online), and the Folklórico Factory (Facebook/Instagram)

Etsy sells flamenco shoes but I'm suspicious of their quality. On one pair, the nails (in their photo) didn't appear to be properly spaced and also looked like floor scratchers. Another pair looked as though they've substituted nails for taps, but they weren't tap shoes because holes were punched into the taps I guess to mimic a flamenco sound? I've never seen such a product passing itself off as flamenco shoes.
