Cartridge alignment involves fine tuning multiple setup parameters which are all interdependent on each other. Every step we take has single goal in mind, and that is to retrieve what was recorded on the grooves as accurately as possible.
These video tutorials are provided to you for free. We hope to assist you in achieving the most accurate cartridge setup. The Video are simplified versions of detailed instructions, we strongly advise you to read over the contents under the AnalogMagik homepage.
We will guide you every step of the way, from the initial mounting of the cartridge, to aligning the cartridge at the proper angle, to fine tuning every setup parameters using the AnalogMagik software.
Our goal is to help you achieve a more accurate cartridge setup using scientifically repeatable methods.
Through our FREE Basic Cartridge Setup Tutorial, we will show you how to do:
1) Cartridge mounting
2) Cartridge cantilever alignment using the Acoustical System
Professional Alignment Set (or other protractor of your
choice)
3) Optimizing torque on the Cartridge mounting screws
Then comes the part where AnalogMagik comes in, we will go into further details of every setup parameters to help you improve the accuracy of your setup with AnalogMagik's 10 test functions:.

Setup parameters are highly interdependent on each other, no parameter can be optimized in isolation. For example, if your Anti-skating is set incorrectly, your Azimuth measurements may be rendered meaningless. Meaningful results of a specific measurement is highly dependent upon equipment quality as well as all other setup parameters. It is normal that you will have to go back and forth between parameters to achieve an optimal setup.
AnalogMagik does not guarantee that meaningful measurements can always be derived from every setup parameter, but taken as a whole, if you can achieve good measurements with as many of these parameters as possible, we believe it will result it a much higher level of accuracy and a better sounding system.
In the internet age, nobody reads instruction manuals the size of a phone book. We have designed AnalogMagik to have onscreen instructions which will guide you. Our single sheet on screen help file will also tell you what test results to look for.

Excellent video! This tutorial, and procedural method is the best one I've watched on UA-cam! Thank you for all these clear, detailed descriptions, and procedures. I am detailed for the most part, and try to be exact; I've upgraded, and repaired my desktop computer, and upgraded my laptop computer. However, I honestly don't know, have the skill, and experience to get these things correct, yet. Very good video! Thank you very much for your wise advice, detailed instructions, close up views, and helpful tips on the adjusting of phono cartridge, and tonearm. The tonearm is not something I knew had to be accurately aligned as well. Again, thanks, AnalogMagik lady. Also, there is a saying from Mr. Vinyl TV; and it is Vinyl is final.

One thing I wonder about is how to fix improper landing behavior. Could this cause imbalance between left and right on stereo cuttings?
How is the adjustment done?
Is that done by azimuth adjustment?
