I'm actually really excited about the new books! I don't have any of the old books, so I'll just start with the new ones. I just have to try to not let people ruin it for me with all their drama lol
I don't have the money to get into a whole new set of books right now, WotC will have to survive without my contributions. Maybe I'll take a look in a few years, once the dust from all this has settled.
5.5e is not backward compatible. note that WOTC is going "full digital" which I wonder if the game is made now to be so 'videogamy' for their digital ideal. they want it to be so complicated so you HAVE to use the digital platform. I am moving on to Shadowdark.
Hasbro saying they’re all in on digital doesn’t mean WOTC is going to be digital only. The same earning report mentions pre orders for the new books are at an all time high. Physical magic cards still outsell the digital game. I don’t think physical books are going anywhere. Also, Shadowdark has digital tools, does that mean it’s digital only?
This is not the first time that there has been a revision of the D&D rules. It's happened in every edition since 2nd 2nd edition revised 3.5 4e essentials
@@craigofinspiration but it clearly is not a new edition??? It is a quality of life update that is NEEDED for sure after 10 years of 5e. All previous adventure books in 5e are still useable, which is CLEARLY not possible with 4e or 3e adventures without seriously altering the monsters/encounters and whatnot. I don't get why wotc is getting so much hate...
dude I’m on your side, I’m looking forward to the new books, I have them preordered. it’s just frustrating that they said for a year that’s it’s not a new edition but then in interviews they says it’s a new edition we just didn’t want to call it that. I can like something and still be critical of it

I'm never giving my money to people who view me as an obstacle to their profits. WotC is dead to me as far as D&D.
Not to mention the propaganda interviews they gave to content creators. Why weren't any of the questions related to the OneD&D Ranger?

No way will I ever give WoTC another dime.

Pretty hyped about the starter set. Played LMoP and Stormwreck Isle is on my todo
Which part of this was a lie, then?
when they said it’s not a new edition, but I think it’s more of a software update. idk 🤷🏽♂️

All this doublespeak Crawford’s using has me so confused. I’ll stick to 5e, where the Artificer and all the subclasses I love still live.
