An excellent story, as always. I'd expect nothing less from the great ButterflyCoffee. Love this Julie-centric special; I feel like we haven't heard enough from her. I also appreciate you giving such an exciting story without needing most of the classic cliches that accompany such tales, like having Julie find shelter in a tunnel, rushing in at full speed and then slamming herself into reverse to stop inches from the opposite mouth. And yet, I can totally empathize with Julie here, feeling the weariness at the state of things, and the frustration that there was no sign of it ever ending. I imagine she and Lizzie might have a thing or two to talk about, seeing as the elder Churchward's been through all this before, and worse. Speaking of engines being caught in air raids, I wonder if any of the Newton Abbot gang would get word of what happened further east, when a Southern tank engine was attacked by a German fighter, and while it met a sad end when the fighter's cannon shells caused it's boiler to explode, it at least managed to take the fighter down with it when a piece of debris lopped off the plane's wing. ryesown.co.uk/german-bomber/ Edit: Just caught it; 7:34-7:42. Did I catch a reference to the classic Burt Lancaster film "The Train"? "You can't run through an air raid!" "Watch me. Fire up that engine!"
I can't remember clicking on a video so quickly as I just did. Your stories, Mr. Joj's cover art, and both of your voice work make for an amazing production!
Wouldn't mind commissioning the artist myself. Always wanted to see what my OC would like in a train from. Anyway beautifully well down again. Butterfly Coffee can't wait to see more.
Thank you for the kind words. This cover art was a collaboration by Lawl and myself (he sketched and I did everything else). I'm always open for commissions so if you are interested, head on down to my deviantART and take a gander.
What a shocking adventure for Julie that was. It felt like an action packed movie and, in my opinion, it really could make it as an motion picture for the cinemas. The biggest runaway I had seen here in the series and you can feel the tense in it :D .
I really love this episode of your series I love the way everything fell together leading up to the end And the bombing at the end that's what it was truly like back then in that time frame over there... Sorry such a long message .. Just really love this
Wow this story had me siting on the edge of my seat it is definitely you can really feel the fear and sadness of the situation you can olmost fell the pounding of Julies wheels under my feet
Oh, one more thing, why did Julie go from Bristol to Plymouth via Templecoombe of all places? Couldn't she have gone for a straight shot down the GWML?
its a very nicely writtern story listening to i wish i could write as good as you can butterfly coffee. i found it interesting that Julie was heading to plynmouth which is were i was born 22 years ago now after listening to your latest story like with a few of your characters i am now a little bit fond of Julie the black five as she is a brave engine just like my own engine character Megan.
Everyone can learn to write stories to my level (there are also those far better than me) but it takes a lot of planning patience and hard work. Thank you for the kind words.
@@ButterflyCoffee i thought i would watch this episode again before watching the latest episode that you have put on youtube after giving your characters a two year rest.
I’ve been listening to this for years and it’s still as amazing as the first time i heard it! If I may ask, do you remember what tracks you used during the chase? I’ve never been able to find them, though I suspect it’s from the Dr Who soundtrack
TheSuperBrine Given we're in the war arc right now, being blown up in the face or boiler is a sure fire shot. Or if you derail badly enough, internal damage or drowning depending on where. MrJoj also suggests simply drifting off to an endless deep sleep if an engine isn't steamed for a couple of months unless taken in for repair or overhaul.
I must say, another great addition to your series. However there is one thing I would question related to the second half of the Tempest episode - I always felt you were straining there to find a reason for how Caitlyn got her name, and were pushing it quite a bit with what came out. If you were to ever consider redoing that episode with a more convenient ending, I can relate to you an incident that took place partly in my witness while visiting the North Norfolk Railway. The train my dad and I were on departed Holt without the son of a couple who were in the same carriage, because he was in the toilet when the guard blew his whistle. The stationmaster was able to communicate to the one at Weybourne, and he was reunited with his parents after being taken there by one of the volunteers in their car. Perhaps then the incident in Tempest can play out as such, and Caitlyn continues to show her concern after that, and, through her driver, starts a regular correspondence with the girl's mother, which leads to her getting her name. If you do decide to, don't forget to acknowledge me for the idea.

If it was a reference to 'The Train', I didn't catch it myself - you'd have to ask Mr Joj. Thank you for the kind words otherwise!
Yeah it was a reference to the train movie, somewhat. And yeah I know of the german bomber story, quite an ironic one at that.
@@trainlover658 its ironic that the steam engine that was used for the filming of the train was a 4-6-0 tender engine just like Julie
14:20 I like the use of the Toy Story 3 music. Fits well there.

I drew this one actually ;)
Oh, I apologize for the assumption then. You are quite the artist.
Thank you very much~
Nah Joj let me have this one so I went ahead and doodled :D
Out of curiosity, are you on deviantart? I'd imagine that you have more amazing pieces such as this one.
Yes I am~

Mmmmmm, dem bf 109s tho
I love these stories, they way you tell them is pronominal and very gripping. Keep up the good writing, reading, and tale telling.
I was listening to some of the previous NAS stories earlier today when this came up. Nice job Butterfly Coffee and Mr Joi.
Love it :)
Can't wait for a D-day story, should there be one. It'd be interesting to see some yanks in the ranks
i just finished watching all of NAS so far; loving it! lizzie and caitlyn are easily my favourites, can't wait for more!

Absolutely brilliant. Kept me on edge for at least 80% of the episode!! Can’t wait to see later work from you two
Amazing work i love these stories it feels like a novel btw who ever did the artwork outdid themselves with this piece
Hai.
And hello. XD
@@ButterflyCoffee i agree
"You can't ride through an air raid!" - Random Crewman
"Watch me! Fire up that engine!" - Papa Boule
You deaf you old goat?! Get out of there, and into cover!
"SOD OFF." - GWR 5322 'Lizzie'
Yet another fine piece of work, art was especially beautifully done this time round.
We need this as a teenager-aimed side series to ttte
Lovely stuff! Thoroughly captivating as ever!
Thank you! Your wonderful Black Five sounds helped to make it so; I believed you deserved an honourable mention in the credits. :)

one of the more intense readings keeping me on the edge of my seat! bravo! very well done!
Amazing work. I just don’t know what to way except for, wow. Amazing, simply amazing story.
The use of the music from Toy story 3 was pure genius.
Aww hell yeah, new upload!!!
This story was awesome! Nice picture btw :D
My Great Uncle was at D-Day and he got buried in the sand. Luckily he survived. My grandfather's father was in the Navy as a Radio mechanic.

I love a good war story. Mind telling me what music you used at the beginning?
Hey, few years late but it's called : The dream of a normal death from Doctor Who
I'm sure I heard a few Doctor Who themes in there. Love the story and the overall series so far. Here's to the next one!
There are a few Doctor Who pieces in there, well spotted. Definitely here's to the next one - I hope it's not as big a pain as this one was!
Oh, one more thing, why did Julie go from Bristol to Plymouth via Templecoombe of all places? Couldn't she have gone for a straight shot down the GWML?
ButterflyCoffee which Doctor Who pieces did you use for this? I feel like one of them is in the last episode of Series 2.

I can't quite tell, even in 1080p... What is Julie's number?
is that Toy Story 3 music I hear 14:20
Great video. Dang that was dark. Just goes to show train series like this can be adult. BTW what’d Julie mean by “paint me like a roller?”
I don't believe she ever said that. Can you give me the time mark, please?
Sure thing, 2:14 and my bad, I meant round-ell. I'm gonna blame autocorrect for that. :)
Patrick Webb a roundel is pretty much a target set of circles. Julie's implying you might as well use her for target practice for where she's going
OH.......I get it now. Thanks. I appreciate you both taking the time to reply.
This is a good story
Could I adapt a part of this

When will there be another episode
If you don’t mind me asking is there going to be a new one
Yes, but we're having to remake it as it was lost in production.
Oh no
somebody should remake these in trainz
thomasfan2003 check bsm iron panzer lawls channel he is making new episodes of this series in railworks with help from butterfly coffee and joj
Small correction; it's a parody series he's making, not new episodes. It should become it's own entity in due time.
Let me guess during the time of the Blitz in WWII?
