I love your attitude and fun loving spirit. As you said riding in the rain isn't so bad, compared to what other peoples situation is and what life has heaped upon them. Perspective is everything, thanks for a fun video and congratulations on the bike fit. Made a world of difference for me last year.
Brings me back to my cycling routes in Saskatchewan when I was 19 years old I did my first long 'Tea' ride with our fearless British leader who was 65 at the time. A nice tea with honey at a Cafe mid ride. ❤
In olden days, mountaineers climbing Everest and the like used silk vests as their base layers. RAF fighter pilots, Spifires, Lancasters Tornados etc used silk glove liners too.
Thanks for remembering to state the temp lol. We can now relate to what you're dealing with. Glad the bike feels better and hopefully the new saddle will make thinks even better.
Guessing that was St Joseph's tea room? Only been in there once many years ago despite living within a few miles. Not missing that weather and enjoying watching from sunny lanzarote.
Well done Amy & crew. Riding in rain can be fun, the hard bit is persuading yourself to get out. Couple of hours is more than enough though, hard to keep hands and feet dry for too long.
I'm so glad to you had a bike fit, as with the massive number of miles you put in it is essential. It will make a world of difference, especially if you have asymmetry issues like I do. Love your videos!
Glad that your bike fit worked out, that's something I need to invest in next year. Ref riding in the rain, the worst thing is getting motivated to set off riding if it's chucking it down...but then 1mile down the road I wonder what all the fuss was about!
I sprayed our winter cycling gloves (and head warmers) with waterproof spray. After reading lots of reviews on different brands and how they are applied I settled on this brand that had consistent good reviews and was as simple as just spraying on. Some have to be heat activated. I got mine from Amazon (I took a photo to show you the product, but can't upload in coments) but it's Nikwax TX Direct.
Hey it may sound strange but I enjoyed briefly seeing the canals and the canal boats. Interestingly it may be 5 or 6 degrees there, but it is 34 degrees in Australia. Compliments of the season Amy and Kyle.
I never saw a pressure pad measurement, together with the video analysis, very awesome. Not sure any shops around me in SF do that. What did that 3 hour fitting session cost?
1) glad but unsurprised the bike fit helped; 2) I thought swans migrated south for winter but nope-muddy field; 3) now I need to rewatch "Singin' In the Rain"
More of my local roads ,I will probably bump into you one of these days , Whitwick is pronounced without the 2nd W ,Whitick the locals don't like Whit Wick lol
If you are warm then riding in the rain is not too bad really. Certainly the sense of a successful battle against the elements after getting in and having a shower is sometimes sublime. Once you've met such a wet day head on a few times then no rainy day will phase you, you'll be able to look out the window and think, I've ridden in worse so how bad can it be.
one of the reasons i do not ride in the rain is water gets in my sleeve and my leg becomes loose i think thats a good excuse 🤣🤣🤣 not easy to motivate yourself when its as wet as it has been lately luckily off to Spain in Feb for a week
Just a question, I noticed that it appears you or the group never lock your bikes when stopping at cafes. Do you not worry about bikes being stolen? Great vids
We do usually lock them together ☺️ probably just haven’t shown it on the video! Me and Kyle have a combination lock one really easy to fit in the back pocket 🙌
Amy, I noticed your jacket is completely wetted out (water not beading up on the surface), but likely it just needs a DWR treatment. Do you have Nikwax products in the UK?
Can't wait for you to get that new saddle to complete your transformation on the bike now we need to get you some warmer waterproof gloves; the bloke that had an extra pair of gloves was very clever too We need to also get you some clear googles to wear in bad weather to protect you eyes too. Nige was as warm and enthusiastic as always. Ding dang dillo TTFN to you to Amy Everyone like share and subscribe to Amy Cycling Adventures get this girls numbers and thrills up.
Good job keeping your spirits up in the rain, this winter has been a pig so far, looking forward to some longer days and a bit of sun :). You should do a subs ride sometime, bet there would a few of us up for it 👍.
That ride looked like my definition of a miserable ride: middling cold, unexpected rain and multiple mechanicals. Bleah. How was your first ride post-fit? They made so many big adjustments I'm wondering if you spent a lot of time with your body telling you "THIS can't be right!" after riding "wrong" for so long.

Great to see that lovely old bloke back he is the best. 👍

Cold wet rides in winter set you up nicely for spring/summer which you appreciate more.

As well as parachutes being made of silk.
Miss Amy, Wonderful post. Glad the bike fit help you out and your more comfy on the bike. I don't think I would ever get warm after a cold wet ride.
Glad the bike fit is good! good old uk weather as usual! ride safe Amy and Kyle! 👍

Great to see Nigel back! Always enjoy the videos. Greetings from the Peak District
Thanks for watching! 😄

Latex gloves under gloves when it’s wet is a winner!
Nice for the bike fit works.

Yes as long as it's not too cold it's not that bad! ☔️

I think some of the russian species migrate here but I could be wrong . My strong point is insects not birds
I haven't seen an Empella in the wild in years!
More of my local roads ,I will probably bump into you one of these days , Whitwick is pronounced without the 2nd W ,Whitick the locals don't like Whit Wick lol
Haha it's highly likely! Ahh thanks 😂
Hi Amy, another great video and glad you’re happy with your bike fit. What is the style (or model) name of your Rapha jacket in the video? Thanks Jim
Thank you!! It’s a Rapha Gortex that I bought for cycling LEJOG last year, love it but it’s last years model so I don’t think they do it anymore!
Ok thank you 🤔 your video are great and always make me smile 👌
wet gloves? either carry some rubber ones in a bag with you to go underneath or in a pinch get some from a petrol station.
Nice to see Nigel again. 👍
Merry Christmas Amy and Kyle! Happy New Year too!
Same to you! Thank you ☺️
Great video as always Amy, nice to see Nigel. Hi Amy where did Kyle get his flask from?
Top attitude as always x x ❤

Silt is the reason I don't want to ride in the wet - if I can avoid it. It's abrasive and gets in everywhere on the bike. Puts a lot of wear on it.
On the Cloud Trail, nice riding!!! Whitwick is pronounced Whittick !!! Lol!!!!
😂
that'll warm me cod loins up! In America that mean something different I think
😂😂

Yes nikwax is originally uk brand 🙂
Yes I need to do this! Thank you for the suggestion ☺️
Seeing the rain makes me glad I invested in a turbo trainer :)
Have not gone for a rain ride yet. Love your cycling crew. How much was the bike fit in the UK? 250.00 Here in America. Love the videos.
Thanks for watching - yes similar prices here! Glad you like the videos 🥰
Cha is also correct!

Silt lined gloves would be great for exfoliating. 😂
😂
Before cafe stop: this is wank!
After cafe stop: this is wonderful!
😅
I actually said rank 😂 but same meaning I guess! Haha yes I think the sugar helped 😂
@@amy.cycling.adventures Sorry! Yes I think you did... I paraphrased 🙂

Swans hibernating?! 😳

She's goofy but fun to watch.
Brighter color Amy when cycling would be ideal!
Nice video,
maybe one day you can add some english subtitles?
Can I get an English translation please?
Yipee
fab news i want to tell you
I am doing a charity spin at my gym for wallace & gromit's grand appeal
If you keep your helmet on inside the cafe then you won’t feel the benefit when you get back outdoors 😅
😂😂 don’t want to subject Kyle to my helmet hair!
You rode with the wheel not properly attached?? Your boyfriend is not looking out for his lady.
Haha my own fault!
I love your videos but please don’t wear dark cloths this time of year
