Also that wood doesn’t look warped, it definitely ain’t the bottom barrel wood, which I would have grabbed for sure.

Beats 3500 + for built in shelves , portable , will last a lifetime. Bunch of negative , when stacked without shelving , you have to remove every bin to get to ones on the bottom. Kudos to the guy for being innovative.

Sams club shelves can hold 12 40 gallon totes for only $180. They hold 2.5k lb per shelf (4 shelf per unit). Just bought 27 totes and 3 units (only doing 3 shelf of totes each) yesterday for $1200. All three units were cheaper than he is selling them 😅

THE FIRST PROBLEM is, if that rack was full, the weight would take out the casters. I had to add three casters to each corner. They were mounted on two pieces of 3/4" ply 8" x 8". Initially, I used casters that could handle the weight, but the wood they mounted to couldn't. To solve the problem, I took the approach used for the car dollies. With the single caster, it took everything in me to move the loaded rack. With the three casters in each corner, I could move the rack with just one hand.
Store 20 bins for $770 is $38.50 per bin. There is a brand called Handt and they make tote ceiling storage rails for $15 a bin. Half as much and they are completely out of the way on your ceiling.

I literally built something almost exactly like this two days ago that holds all the trim for a house we're remodeling... Took me a few hours and probably $200-300 in material and I guarantee it was sturdier than this because I used 2x6's for the verticle pieces and I notched them to fit 2x4s to support the horizontal pieces that carry all of the weight. Put some locking wheels on the bottom and now we have a rolling shelving unit to carry hundreds of 16ft length pieces of trim. This guy is ripping people off bad! Good for him if he can sell those for that price lol, if people will buy it... Sell it!

He probably bought in bulk because they were small and cheap but they’re not rated for large amount of weight. Those bins are not cheap, In Canada they would be at least $25/pc unless you can find a good sale. 20 x 25 = $500 bins alone. You'd have to them $1,000 or more to be profitable.
