They go hard in the Japanese releases, just in kind of a different way from their Korean ones. They really try to take what's the 'popular' or 'common' things in JPop and kind of give it their special Stray Kids twist. And I think that's part of why they're incredibly popular there. There's of course a bit of a complicated relationship between Korea and Japan, but them showing a willingness to embrace different ideas and themes in Japanese culture really works to their benefit.

I really love this song, it's got that pop punk anime vibe and I feel like live it's gonna go off. I also love the collab LiSA's voice stands out so well against theirs it's another complementary thread to make the song brighter.

Listening to this the first time ripped my heart out because I remember Chan saying that this song was written from HIS heart. I couldn't stop imagining the pain he lived through the 7 years he was a trainee and feeling like he wasn't good enough. Stray Kids and their music has made such a huge difference in how i see the music industry in both America and Korea which is a huge change since I was raised in the American music industry so having 40 years of my beliefs challenged took an adjustment. Yes I have been listening to Kpop since the 90s along with other international music but I didn't see behind the music until the introduction of Stray Kids debut. I've kept quiet until the past year dealing with the social media side of things.
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your insight with us. I must admit that first listening to K-pop was an eye-opening experience for a R&B & acapella PTX listener. I kept going back & dipping my toes into the genre until I came across Chan's Hate To Admit. With this song, either though I couldn't understand what he was sing, I knew I need to find out more. Came across EASY, heard and saw the boys and jump totally in fully dressed.. I gained courage in commenting on YT but still cannot get into the other social platforms... not yet lol

Edit:objectively, YES. They go crazy with Japanese Comebacks. And not just anthem crazy (battle ground, ahem, and more haha) but FAN SERVICE crazy. Please, the Your Eyes was the craziest gimmick theyve ever done, i still get goosebumps remembering the MV even when the song is really pretty.

Honestly and objectively speaking, Stray Kids Japanese releases have a whole different vibe compared to their Korean releases. Especially mv wise, they always go crazy with not only the song, but with the visuals
Some of the past Japanese releases have been a bit too gooey sweet pop for me, but some of them, especially Circus, are pure gold. I'd say Circus is up in the top 20, possibly top ten Skz songs for me--that's pretty darn high considering how much great work they have. This one's pretty good but not quite as fun--not so many of the trademark odd beat changes and weird sound samples and so on. More classic rock, but I love the meaning of the lyrics. Same would go for the video--this video is pretty straightforward kpop beautiful idols, beautiful styling, beautiful lighting, slightly goth feel--it fits the sound and meaning of the song and is lovely to watch, but doesn't push into any new territory; any kpop idol group might have done something like this. Circus, on the other hand--what group other than Stray Kids would have a theme of sneaking into a circus and blowing up their alter egos, with a giant jack-in-the-box and elephant calls being used as part of the music?

Demon Slayer is an anime and LiSA sang the songs in the anime. You can check up on LiSA "Gurenge" or "Homura" in the First Take channel. Both songs from Demon Slayer anime.

I think I read that this song was about Chan, but he possibly wrote it for the whole group as well since it had such a deep meaning for all of them. (Just hearsay.) Collaborating with Lisa was amazing and this is one of my favorite songs as well.
