- In this bass fishing video we have the topwater fishing showdown in some loaded ponds! Topwater fishing is by far my favorite way to go bass fishing. Today, we had very tough conditions but we were still able to catch some big bass while topwater fishing! Do you like topwater fishing? Have you ever been topwater fishing in ponds? I have a shallow grassy pond behind my house off in the woods. There are some absolute monster bass in there. I found it a few weeks ago, so I've been exploring lures and techniques to figure out what they want. Frogs have done the best so far. Keep up the good work!

*VIDEO REQUEST: I know it may be difficult but I think it would be super dope if somehow you were able to link up with Ben Milliken either in Texas or in Georgia/Florida and do some fall fishing vids or try and set something up for the Spring Pre-Spawn. I think you and Milliken Fishing have the best channels out there and it would be a killer combo! You could throw some 6th sense baits, Mach baits, large swim baits, etc. idk if you’ve ever had any previous interactions but it would make for some good vids.

You need to do a SLAM and catch one on every Mach bait bro.
You don't always have to pop a popper, I've gotten hits by an aggressive burn and pause retrieve. It does a crazy erratic fleeing swim just below surface.
Depends on the conditions if it too cold or too hot they aren’t going to chase a fast moving object. So popping is usually a more versatile technique.

Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.
