I put in my 2 weeks notice after 10 years of being a manager for a company. I ALWAYS worked overtime when needed and no one else would do it and hardly ever took time off. I put in my 2 weeks notice and all of a sudden they had an “investigator” (who wasn’t really an investigator after all) coming to talk to me to say that I did something I wasn’t supposed to do. They wanted me to admit it and write it down on paper. The only thing I wrote was “I DIDN’T DO SHIT!”. They said they had me on tape, but after I asked to see the tape, and threatened to get a lawyer, they left me alone and let me finish my last week there. MOTHER FUCKERS!!!

You know, it looks really good to future employers when you put in a two weeks notice from a job. That way when they check your references they don’t tell your other job that you were fired for doing something wrong. I was accused of stealing something very very fucking stupid. And they wanted to fire me on the spot, or make me just abandon my job on the spot, instead of work my two weeks like you are supposed to do at a job. I have never stolen anything in my life, if I have it has been by complete accident, like if you forget to grab something small out of a shopping cart, like a Chapstick or something and you don’t realize it until you get to your car. Something like that that’s not on purpose I may have done that at some point. But I never ever stole anything from this company. They were just trying to bully me for no reason.

@Mocha 777 TV I don't believe they were EVER the employee's advocate. In my view they only look out for what appeases the company and ensure employees are compliant lemmings without any talent to proffer constructive feedback.
To me, HR is the most useless division in any company. Their aim to retain talent and promote efficiency can be delegated to other personnel as opposed to categorize an entire dept. into achieving this mission. If anything, non HR managers and staff are better equipped to accomplish HR's goals than the actual HR members, seeing how they conduct the daily operations and therefore know what's suficient to maintain employee satisfaction, where areas of improvement are of a necessity and how best to streamline policy for improved results.

When I worked for this horrible company I was truthful and hard working. I disagreed with my manager about a minor thing and suddenly, more work is being piled on top of me, more scrutiny. And more write ups. Suddenly rumors started sprouting up and my co-workers started ostrcising me and bullying me. Of course, my mental and physical health would nosedive because of that. So it went downhill. Made the mistake of telling hr and things started going badly. The management and co-workers started accusing me of horrible and slanderous things such as laziness and terrorism. Bloody terrorism!?. So I threatened them with a lawsuit for defamation individually of all peoples involved. Got a hush contract and money to boot because I also threatened them with media coverage. The company is Farmers Trading Company, the holding company is James Pascoe Group. I'm out of the country, somewhere where their corruption can't get me and if 9ne of them is reading this:
"You can kiss where the sun don't shine HR and the useless manager Sam, put me into any of your pathetic black list or whatever impotent show of your useless power over me can do. I own my business and expanding into an organization to expose and shame companies and individuals like you who abuse their power and abuse and exploit workers. No violence, Just legal and lawful justice. My silence is wholly dependent on me getting my money on time and you broke it first by being a week late. Hope you all go bankrupt and poor. Remember HR people can be usefull but instead chose to be HR.

I showed up early for my interview in a suit and tie. The HR woman was 15 minutes late, came in, called my name and never introduced herself. She just said, "Follow me."
I thought she may have been a runner and was asked to come out and get me. As we entered an office, she said this is where the interview would take place. As I sat down in the chair she took the other side of the desk. I still had no idea what position she held or what her name was as she started asking questions.
I had to ask her what her name and position was halfway through the interview. She was not even dressed professionally, but in jeans and a pullover shirt for being a large corporation. I was dressed well enough that you would have thought I was in a high-ranking position with the company.
I immediately knew this is not the kind of place I'd want to work for when HR looks and acts so unprofessional. These are usually the people a job interviewee is the first to meet, they should be making a phenomenal impression for themselves and the company. Yet, she has a job.

That last quip about "brown nosers" and "suck ups"... Check this out - I was consistently a top sales performer and my employer was dying to promote me to sales management. I saw through this. I knew that the company embraced a level of incompetence that was astonishing and I continually turned down their offers. But I saw that whomever flew the flag highest and shouted "Ooh Yeah!" the loudest would always get the promotions - regardless of their experience or talent. I tried for months to get fired by calling management on the carpet for their incompetence, always in private - never publicly. They refused to fire me! Day-um!
I would love to share with you some of the hysterical discussions I had. End of story is that a few competent co-workers and I peeled off and started our own gig. Non-compete clause be damned - sue me, I dare you...

You seem unstable. If you actively tried to get fired, you are the issue. It literally takes 1 simple notice to your employer that you quit and you are good to go. The fact that you deliberately stayed at a company you can't stand working for is a sign of mental health distress.

I'm a retired HR Director. During my 25 years in HR I saw many things but we never did anything illegal nor unethical. Then again, I worked in the public sector. Maybe that is the difference. The public sector in my State was highly regulated and unionized. There were civil service regulations, collective bargaining agreements and administrative law to deal with so agencies were not so free to do as they pleased and HR professionals' primary responsibility was to represent the interests of the State as the employer so, although sometimes one felt one was walking on a tight rope, we were protected from retaliation by department and agency heads. End result...things were done on the up and up.

This is true: they will frame you, and even if HR wants to get rid of an employee, they will make you quit so you are not qualified for unemployment. I have witnessed all of that; it’s a game, and there are no protections from HR or management. Our management has been reported to HR, but they never reply to emails or calls again. Even when the boss was reported to HR, she seemed confident and laughed it off. I understand now that HR is not your friend. Don’t ever quit your job if this what they want you to do, you make them quit.

The suckups are gassed out by proper leadership. You gotta manage your company right if you want to grow both your capital and your rapor with people. The value exchange must be maintained and if natural procedures break down: employee resigns, time taken off, unsuccesful projects - these all need to be handled accordingly, learned from and improved and innovated upon.
All the laws governing causality will bear on you if choose the get rich quick route.
More than likely you're not skilled enough to bear with the slow problems, and they will ruin you.
Those who like to gamble tho, feel free to try. Human existence is only fun when you know other people have it worse.
