Bouncing off Thargoid wake?

Dropped into a threat 6 and tested if I could get the Interceptor to follow me and skip the scouts. The opposite happened. The interceptor disappeared and the scouts followed me. Going back towards where the Interceptor came in, I found this thing. No thargoid-wake signal, just a funny blob pushing me back.
