  • New Project M pop-up tent shakedown trip, middle of June 2024. Time to drive and try the new setup! This trip was unusually cool and rainy for this time of year, highs were in the 50's and 60's with lows in the 20's and 30's. Not a lot in this town, I thought it had more shops, restaurants, and lodging for tourists to stay at. Horribly eroded streets with huge gullies and rocks sticking up. If you want to just walk around and look at the old architecture this is the place for you, just make sure to bring all of your food and drinks plus a full tank of gas! These videos are made in real time and not sped up or edited in any way, what I see is what you get. Please enjoy, subscribe, like, and comment :)

Silver city Idaho is one of the best preserved mining towns. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, which allows its residents to do routine maintenance on their property. Being a historically registered town also prevents any modern signage or construction of new buildings. It may appear worn down to some. But given the age of the area and the harsh winters, we endure it looks pretty good. But you will never see this area modernized. And the roads will always be bumpy! All buildings are privately owned. The town is definitely not a ghost town. The Owyhee county sheriffs office maintains a regular presence in the area.

Cool, thanks. So people actually live there part time or some year round? Do they have electricity?

This place may as well be a ghost town now- sort of an eerie The Hills Have Eyes vibe LOL! Seems they could do something to preserve it & make it more tourist friendly. Definitely better roads are needed to make it more accessible.

It has huge potential unless power is an issue? I did not see any power lines going into the town, must be all generators?
