- It's been a while so I thought I'd give everyone an update on my Ultimate Desk Setup project. There's not much to show in this video, but there is plenty of discussion revolving around future plans.

Can't wait Tommorow the battery for my 2009 unibody macbook comes! It runs Yosemite fine, 8gb ddr3, dedicated gpu memory, ssd. It even does Final Cut Pro fine. It's great for the person who likes smaller laptops, and prefers the unibody design, bottom line is if your Mac can run Yosemite it really is powerful.
I really like the Apple iSight. I can't wait to see this new monitor you keep talking about.
Totally agree on the iSight camera, it comes from a period when Apple was really rocking design wise, plus it's hard to find a better quality SD cam!
Tom, I love you. You are a legend. I made a video on my channel where I mention you a lot (my 1st ramble) but I just wanted you to know you encouraged me to do every thing I do today with UA-cam.
I would get the Das Keyboard Professional Model S for Mac. I'm currently using the Logitech K811 Mac version with my Mac Pro, love the backlit-led.
Uh, dude, your setup is miles better than mine, and the ones of a lot of us maybe. It's awesome that you can have such a nice and comfy place to work in. Can't wait to see what you do to improve it ;)

Hehehe, yup, still rockin a iMac G4 as my only mac, but i have my gaming rig as my main driver.
My iSight instruction manual uses that iSight mount you have for placing it on top of eMacs, rather than down on your desk.
When you get your new monitor you are going to have to re-think the desk setup again, there doesn't appear to be enough room there for 3 monitors. Maybe you are going to have the main one on the desk and the other 2 fixed to the walls.
For my next keyboard I was considering the much acclaimec Filco Majestouch 2 (with Cherry MX Blacks of course) but they are fairly difficult to source and quite pricey, so I may settle for a WASD standard when that time comes (which is still a $150+ investment).
How did you get the camera to work with sound ? I have been unable to do so with my Mac Mini.

I own two isight camera and I use them for the microphone while recording all my videos on my other channel.
On these ram riser boards of the 2008 mac pro 2.8,
can I add also one stick of ram or must it be two/a pair?
What would happen if I put in only one?
How do u mount it to the moniter does it have a sticky adhesive ?

Too bad mac mechanical keyboards are an exception, scissor switches are nice on an air but not at a desktop.

What you need is a sit/stand desk to really improve your productivity. I bought one 3 years ago and it made a HUGE difference....

Just invented a better iSight mount.
Your video didn't deliver, because putting it on top of the screen means you're not looking at the camera when you have to read the script.
So, my inventions is this... No royalties thanks... I have an old Dell 24" screen that I sometimes use as a 2nd screen with my old macbook pro. You get some really strong velco. I bought it from the US. Very tough stuff. You stick the plasticky side to the end of the iSight (not the lens end silly), and you stick the furry piece of the velcro onto the screen. It'll obscure just around the surface are of the end of the iSight, less than 1". Not much of such a large screen to sacrifice. The screen tilts a little, and you could always just nudge its angle in the horiz. Just use the free teleprompter web site to cover the screen with your script. Bob's your Uncle.
