    I used to work with bamboo a lot. The freshly cut "skin" is razor sharp. We used to cut eel with ease by it. Something that even a sharp metal knife somtimes strugle with

    The fact that there aren’t any nails or screws in the bamboo steamer is amazing

      @@1blueorange You're supposed to cook the dog in the pot and use the steam to make the vegetables in this.

    Tin stops raw copper from leaching into food but since tin melts at 450F, what is stopping the tin from leaching into your food??

    • @5skdm
      @5skdm 8 місяців тому

      well you basically cant preheat it too far, if theres food in the pan than its probably fine (230C/450F in the inside of a pot/pan is pretty hot and would probably be impossible if theres food in the vessel, without burning the food into a brick). cookware in history were usually also copper-tin and preheating it or firing it empty would destroy it

    Too bad we can’t use copper pans with the new convection stoves, since they aren’t magnetic

      There's a way around that. Amazon sells induction burner gadgets that look like a round metal spatula that you set on the induction burner, then you can use a copper pan or any other pan with it. 🍳
