You might be correct... (I could check the ELSA/ETKA technical data, but don't really matter...), however, at this angle, was when the engine would start and run absolutely perfect... @@LMAutoRepairs 5mh11 is right(in some engines not all), if you use the factory locking tools, in some engines you will end up with -3 for example on BLS and it's the right spec, if you put it to zero like in the old engines you will loose power and the fuel economy will get worse. If you check at official vw service book there are 2 types of tools for the crank(T1050/T1100), some use -3 degrees, other 0 degree. By the way, I am a trained VW technician and today I am fixing a car with that issue, the customer went to a garage and they mess that up, now the car is like a diesel sponge and runs slower.heheeheh Also is very important to have a thermostat in good condition, a "cold" engine will not run optimall

Very helpful video I have checked mine because it is running rough on idle when at full temp of 90c. The Torsion Value reads -4.9deg KW, so I assume it's too far retarded as it says -4.9? Update i have reset mine to -1.5 and it tuns much better. Any lower it runs rough.

Hi The value is as close to zero as possible... Unfortunately the only way (That I am aware), to look at the torsion value, is with a diagnostic tool. You can use VCDS, which you can get quite cheap... Hope that helps. Thank you for watching!

The other case i have this engine valve cover oil filling cap that is smear with loam after revising process completed on this friday.I drove my car to home then saw this case in oil filler tap. very bad example for all of us. first you must align teeth window at the top and then block camshaft with 6mm shaft and next move the pulley and the thing you are doing is changing the timing of motor because moves the camshaft. goodbye.
So ... my car stopped running .. golf 5 1.9tdi bxe, it simply wont start, turn the key, it tries to start but then it immediately dies. The timing belt on this car was stretched... That's why the timing started to deviate... I advised him to have it replaced... if he did it or not I don't know...

The torsion value is normally hand written in the factory on the white bar code sticker on your cam belt cover .

Adjust to 1.0kw and see if it improves.

sorry for telling you, buy you do it wrong, i mean on edc16 ecu you need a value of -2 to -2.5 not 0, 0 is for edc15 ecu's, have a nice day.

it was -2.5 with 0.4 fuel consumption
make it 0.5 with 0.6 fuel consumption at idle.

It took me a few attempts...
It ran better, and as I have mentioned, started better ... this was not my car, so I can say about MPG...
I hav e a Touren which was minus 2,5 in torsion. After i adjusted it to 0,0 it run shorter om a liter diesel. What a your experience about This....

loosen 3 bolts without mark nothing in the pulley before and remove all intake pipe. ten attempts to do this is a pretty job.
