Also, apparently the personality we see on stream is highly exaggerated and the real Laplus is actually very kind hearted according to the girls that have met her. She's even slipped up a few times on stream and has been sweet and had to jump back into her kusogaki persona quickly and save face
I'm not gonna say you're wrong, because hey none of us truly know what's going on behind the scenes, but in my opinion they seemed far too happy and comfortable for it to be anything but banter.

Tbh I'm a bit relieved now lol, because all of what you said makes a lot of sense.
I am maybe too quick to jump to these conclusions based on my own experiences. I personally can see someone in a certain constellation of bad circumstances (dependencies, can't move out, ..) playing along with a toxic situation and it semeing as genuine and natual as it did here, because letting anything show would lead to more stress so you kind of perfect it..
But I also know that this is far from the norm, and what you have suggested is probably the far more likely scenario.
I'll trust your judgement here and stand corrected, - and I just hope all is well for both of them at home.

If none of the members did those romantic role-playing types of stuff with their audience, it would be less of an issue. That type of content attracts creeps and delusionals that form these one-sided relationships with the streamers, and if there's even a hint of the girls being in a relationship, they go full anti. But I guess those people are probably a good portion of their superchats, so that might be why the talents keep doing it, or maybe their managers have them do it, who knows.
