I had heard that this movie means the world to the Colombians because of the nomination to the oscars, but watching the trailer makes me understand just why this is such a big deal to them. The movie looks beautiful and really well made. I hope I get to see it in a theater soon! And I hope it wins the Oscar too!
I am a British born Colombian and for me it is a big deal not because of what you referred to in your comment but because of the power of that lies in the consumption of that hallucinogenic plant referred to in the trailer.

Ciro guerra you make an amazing film. to reflect the war of of caucho in colombia and make it magical. the difference between Indian and white people. introduce Indian culture and costume as magical as they are. try to get this film internationally you are a king. you only need to improve your English so you can be in this kind of top shows. cause the way you speak its not close to what this actor describe.you are a art professional you are a talent person. you keep the native language and mixed with English and Spanish. try to show how the bad colonization affect the indians. show even Indians find themselves as a person through their own culture. congrats.

What language are they speaking tho? Because it's not portuguese, not spanish which are the ones used in the Amazon. Is it a dialect?
