@shamanmant Actually, no that is the "master brake pedal." That uses the left and right brake at the same time. Source: Operating the Case 580C myself and Case 580C operator's manual.
its nice to see young mature kids learning to work ive been fascinated with equipment since i was a kid ,i have a b7100 as well as an ex mark its funny because you own a lot of the equipment i do! i just bought a 24hp walker to mow with so i can bag the clippings
the pedal to the right of the brakes is the clutch, the little one below the brakes might be another pedal for the clutch, which would make sense, when u apply the clutch it typically applies the brake, just like my 580ck
Hey, thanks for the video. I have a 480C and didn't understand how to change gears until I saw this video. I have the landscape box on the back of mine. I've had it in the garage over the winter trying to figure out how the heck to change the fan belt. Wow, what a job.... the fan pulley was split. I think the previous owner had the spacer backward and the tension pulled it apart. Anyway... I learned a lot about it and now I know a bit more. Was thinking of putting out a video of my adventure. I took some clips, but my home pc is NOT WORKING...thanks Windows 10 upgrade!!! not. Have a great day and thanks again.
3 levers... wow she's an oldie. Hey considering you had one free hand, and 3 levers to actuate, I have to say you did quite well! I still only have a handful of combined hours on the hoe-end of several machines... but none as old as this.
I liked this viedo a lot. Hat's off to you, I've been running equipment most of my life and I can not run a Case 3 lever at all. I learned how to dig on a Deere but I've been running excavator w/ Cat controls for most of the last 10 years. I have never "got" Case controls, I turn into freakin' moron on a strange new world and all I can is gouge holes and make a mess. This sub we use for granite curb has Case SM &SN's with 3 lever, and those guys are down right amazing to watch, so fast & smooth
Pedals, alright. I haven't run one like that in decades, but I bet it would all come back. You have to learn how to move 2 levers at once with each hand. Then you'll be smooth and fast.
We have a 580C at the golf course I work at. I am a good operator with 2 stick controls, and even old 4 stick Ford controls. I can barely use the 3 stick Case with foot pedal controls. I understand how it works but my motor skills are hardwired to those 2 sticks. These don't make any sense to me it's so much more complicated...
boardingpass04 well everyone starts out GREEN you’re not born knowing how to operate equipment... I fucking hate veterans acting like they started out ace at operating anything. It’s fucking annoying.

Pretty dang good for first time. Like the way you stay calm and just carry on. That's the right way. Good job.

There is no video game that compares to running a backhoe, the better you get at it the more fun it is.
Cool.
You are VERY lucky to have access to all the stuff you do.
Enjoy it.

Good job wish you showed a little about the fluids and maintenance.

2009deerejohn if you think the 3 lever is hard... try a 4 lever case
Good Job Daniel, I really enjoyed this video and learned a few things.

gotta love that diesel purr
good job. looks like fun.
This is like watching grass grow
It's kind of better if you had someone hold the camera for you so that we could really see how your like on the case backhoe.
i dont get it you have the split brakes clutch under that then to the rigght of that befor the foot throttle theres another pedle whats that
Cool video, keep it up man
I have a 1991 1550b jcb turbo backhoe and it has a lot more horse power than this one, but right now I want a 580c case backhoe like this one.
Thanks for the misinformation to all. The button on the floor is the differential lock. No clutch on a 580.
Does anyone know what year model this one is? I just bought one almost identical but do not know what the year is.
Around 84 to 87
@DanielJaegerFilms so the oil is over 6 years old?
140 millions years. Sorry, couldn't resist.
*ahem* The backhoe at Davidsfarm is a 580B, that's a 580C. His is a 1974, that is not.
@lawnguys2 it is not dirt, its clay
why is the dirt red
Good video real sweet.
are you ever green on that thing but all in good fun i guess

Forever From Texas I couldn’t agree more and the OP has prob never even been on any type of equipment
