My old band buddy loved the jazz master and p90 soap bar pickups, unfortunately I just lost my best friend last month and on my birthday at that. He survived having bone cancer at the age of 26 only to die from a overdose like 7 years later. Hands down the best musician I’ve ever seen.
Captain should play more Jazzmasters, that opening tone is great.
It's noticeable how much better Lee's playing has got since he started doing more videos with Pete rather than Rob. Pete encourages Lee rather than trying to show off.

I just got my pink jazzmaster yesterday! Setup was kind of shit from the box, but fit and finish is absolutely beautiful, and once it got a neck shim (very easy to do, don't be scared!) and a slight bridge adjustment it plays beautifully. And it ROARS like a beast!!! It's got attitude for DAYS!

@@seanhershey3390 The price of the guitar ended up at $329 + shipping (~$62) to the USA once you remove VAT. It clocked in right at $400 + change when you include everything. Like $403? $409? And it got here in 4 days!

Got the Shell Pink Bullet Strat that they released this year (or last year). Shell Pink is a very inspiring color and i always love the way it looks on a guitar. Keep up the Good Work during these trying times!

I was quite impressed but sold it later in lockdown as I wasn't using it and now i've bought another on ebay because I need the shoegaze tremolo thing again. I thought I'd just wait and get a Japanese or American Fender but the prices are unrealistic for me now

Pink is all the rage these days. I'm sort of wanting a Squier Jazzmaster lately - not entirely sure why. I just want one. GAS I guess.
Having said that, I'm 100% certain I'd upgrade the pickups.
I think Tyler Bryant and his shell pink strats are responsible for the trend. I could be wrong.
@@kissfan1701 Sounds like a reasonable theory. I know the guys on the Guitar Nerds podcast have also been pimping the pink guitars too - not sure which came first.

@@kissfan1701 Agreed! The big UA-cam channels definitely have a big impact. Most guitar players aren't reading guitar magazines any more, but most of us are addicted to the UA-cam channels. I probably subscribe to about 80+ guitar-related UA-cam channels. It's replaced cable TV for me.

I think I would prefer a white pickguard but the pink is lovely.
I was almost entitely sold on getting a semi hollow thinline Squire tele, but now I am so confused. I never enjoyed the switches of the Jaguar, but its tone is a wonderful blend between a strat and tele. I want to play one to see if I can get a chicken-picking clean sound of a clean tele, but also a classic surf/western tone. It doesn't quite hit the glassy tones of a strat it seems.
I'll trade my Daphne Blue Jaguar for the pink one 💖

I always considered offsets to be too hipsterish for me...But damn are The Captain and Pete making a good case for why I actually need one.
Dunno about the hipster association anymore, I'd say they-ve gradually become mainstream since the 2000s. I still love their look for nostalgic reasons. Surf guitar classics, J. Mascis, etc. Not to mention they actually sound fantastic.
