Hear me out... Pat Mahomes like... scouts and analysts said he had horrible footwork, low key look the same in college on the field and he can still launch dots with bad footwork and drop it in buckets... now jus imagine he gets his footwork right.
Really like this young man. He's an exceptional athlete who can run fast which brings that added dimension to every play, when the quarterback has the ability to run and gain yardage. This makes the offense a lot more fun to watch, in my opinion. He has a cannon for an arm. If the game is not too fast for him at the professional level, the Vikings could have a diamond in this kid.
I wasn't on board initially, but you've convinced me. If we can get him and one of the top tier rb's in this draft, I'm gonna be super stoked for our future.

In my opinion, Mond has everything. There is a high probability that 49ers are excited about Mond more so than Fields for sure. The Broncos and Patriots could also be a high probability destination for him in the first round. I simply don't get why he does not have more buzz.
He’s good but isn’t surrounded by nfl talent like other top qb’s of this draft are. Wydermyer and Christian Kirk are the only NFL caliber weapon he’s played with in his career.

Thank you for this, i haven’t seen much of him since his first year of college play time. He always looked solid, but didn’t stand out to me. Probably because of the team he played for... and against. This video opened my eyes and now i’m hoping the Steelers fill their most important needs, while finding a way to get Kellen when the value fits best
How come you didn't see any of the great talent he had before Chris Simms pointed it out? You said you thought he had bad posture and would go undrafted and just didn't look good to you. Just wondering how come you didn't notice how good he is on your own? Sounds like you only changed your mind about him after hearing what Simms said about him.
Because people look closer into things and change there minds when they study it more, also I started watching a lot more of his tape and got access to all 22. So no I did not change my mind because of Simms I started looking closer into it because of him this is not that hard to understand lol
I just looked at a lot of his tape(especially from the senior bowl) and he was strong, a lot of velocity, and somewhat accurate, but his decision making isn't great. He will throw off of his back foot or on the run unnecessarily. And like you said, work on the mechanics/footwork. Not bad but is somewhat raw
If the steelers can land kellen mond or kyle trask in the 2nd round and the steelers pass on them.... we are going to go through a painful rebuild... trask probably has a higher ceiling as a pure pocket passer but Mond will fit into the new age dual threat QB the NFL is shifting to and has almost as much potential if not more as trask and the steelers can have a smooth transition when ben retires... there will not be this much talent available in the NFL draft at QB as this 2021 class tbh i think zach wilson and mac jones are over rated and i think trevor lawrence, trey lance, justin fields, kellen mond, Kyle trask are a more accurate top 5
Trask does not have a higher ceiling at all and is not even close to Mond with all due respect Trask is awful and was a product of his talent he had the best core in the cfb

Arm strength and quick release does NOT equate to a good NFL QB (See JaBummus Russel and Ryan Leaf as examples). Slow reads. Even in your clips he stares down the 1 WR he's throwing too. Watch him. No way he should be drafted before the 7th round. Small windows in college are NO windows in the NFL. I've got a $50 bet Bumlin and Colbert draft him. He's got Bumlin written all over him. No way I'd draft him. No way he completes the pass in the first clip in the NFL

The problem with quarterbacks with strong arms is that they throw too much into tight windows. Especially in the middle of the field.
The only thing that concerns me with him is sometimes he just lobs passes a little bit too much. In the NFL that won’t work
that is a mechanics thing he has the ability to throw it with so much power so once he gets those mechanics down his balls will won't float

One guy that had poor footwork coming into the NFL was Mahomes. He sat a season behind Alex Smith and now he is one of the best.
