For those of you struggling to cancel roller with B or Jump (like I did for a long time), I want to explain some of the unintuitive mechanics that cause this to be more complex then it appears. The first thing most people overlook, is that Inkling has states while rolling. Walking, Running, and Turning around. The second thing you need to realize, is that once you commit to a state, you are locked into it for a certain amount of frames; meaning even though it looks like you are running with the roller (and intuition would lead you to believe you can jump at any point during a run) you are in fact attacking, and the attack is pulling you along. This can be further confiscated by the buffer system. The amount of frames you are locked into a rolling state is much longer then the amount of frames the buffer system will look back to. In addition to that, pushing a direction counts as an input for the attack. This means that a lot of players will have an issue where they (for instance) push jump while holding forward. Unless the player pushes jump exactly on the frames that the roll attack animation has finished, then due to holding forward, that will be the most recent buffer, and you will immediately restart the amount of frames you are required to remain in that state. Nice name! I think getting crushed by the Carbon is one of the rarest kills in Splatoon since everyone swings or flicks it, I've splatted people with Inkjet Exhaust and died to Sprinkler but never been rolled by the Carbon Roller.
I give props to Farbleu for inspiring me to keep learning Inkling to main them (I am a Splatoon player at heart) and to Sillin for just sharing the joys he has in Smash learning new characters, dunking his opponents with crazy combos, and talking with chat during streams.

A bit late but i always said Booyah is overrated, why go for a very precise kill confrirm when inkling has an edgeguard game like anyone I mean, once you have the feel with inkling, you SHOULD practice booyah, but early on just edgeguard, tech chase, ledgetrap, and whiff punish, they will allow deep edgeguards and tricky ledgetraps and can catch bad habits :b
