- Today in this video I am going to convert an Induction Motor to a 220v to 12v step down transformer using which I want to make a power supply that's going to convert 220 volts AC to 12 volts DC for running my 12 volt LED light, incandescent bulbs, DC Motors and even charge my 12 volts ups battery.
The induction motor that I have used here is a shading ring induction motor that I found in a hot air blower.

Here, 220-12 volt AC transformer application is made of shaded pole induction motor, but 220 volt AC winding that does not burn out or overheat in a short time can overheat and burn in a long time due to insufficient magnetic coupling or monoblock (against foucault currents). In my opinion, the conditions are not fully met, but it is nice to visually demonstrate the working principle of transformers experimentally with AC-DC conversion.

A great build. As others have said, you will need to be careful not to overdrive the new transformer. This might be done by monitoring how hot it gets. When the maximum reasonable temperature is found, record the output voltage level (which may have dropped some) and the current draw. Then, you can calculate the wattage. In reality, the original motor winding was only capable of providing a small amount of current. Therefore, the new transformer will only support a small current load. Do not leave it running without someone watching it.

В СВЧ печках используется подобный мотор вентилятора обдува трансформатора, и имеет отвод от своей обмотки на 21 Вольт для работы двигателя механического таймера и двигателя вращения тарелки.
Там тарелка сама на 220в. Моторчик откровенное барахло.Ну, только тарелки и крутить.

You could put back the shaded pole motor in it's original form and still get your 12V, I guess.

This would restore the iron circuit too. And would improve efficiency . your output current is limited mostly by the wattage of the original motor
What size generator would I need or how much volts would a generator need to produce to power a full size home complete with air-conditioning, washer, drier, fridge and freezer?
Depends on the ratings of individual things
How to increase amps?
Make high current transformer put thick wire on. Small spot weld heater ect solder iron.

In the future, iron core transformers will become obsolete from the 2002 experiments that determined iron core transformers, predecessors of the switching power supply as inefficient and bulky. and we will have to use this mans engineering to make our own transformer.

Bridge rectifier is easily available in any electronic components store. Yes the Microwave transformer will work.

Если вы о том что можно использовать часть катушки электродвигателя для другого потребителя - то такое конечно прорыв и я уже прежде видел похожее в микроволновой печи,где редуктор вращения "тарелки" на 30 вольт получал их от самого вентилятора или точнее его двигателя.
на работе была сделана сверлилка из аналогичного мотора, тоже была мысль намотать вторичку для питания светодиода подсветки рабочей зоны

No 12v AC.. the bridge rectifier drop ~1.4v.. so you need 12+1.4v Ac for 12v DC
