- How to create a twisted mechanical part using CATIA Part Design 44
This seems to be a bend part, but it just looks it is done this way :) We used some surfaces features to create the bend.

Part Design also has Multi-sections Solid that can be use in the same way that Multi-sections Surface is used. It eliminates a step. I did not create Sketch.3 and Sketch.4 and just used the surfaces as another user suggested.
I don't remember if I managed to model the part with Multi-section Solid, it's not exactly the same, I'll try it anyway, thx
Great video! I have noticed that many users have copied your designed part (consider to update your video tags/keywords as this is not a top listed video for CATIA twisted part). Even the 2D drawing you created for this video has been reuploaded by other UA-cam accounts! I have addressed this within my most recent video introduction of a video where I presented a workflow that can enable multiple twists within CATIA V5 (using Imagine & Shape paired with 3ds Max) which has some advantages but also limitations compared to Part Design / GSD workflow presented by you.

Try it in generative sheetmetal. The twisted surface would be a user defined surface. Once complete the model will unfold flat. Very useful for the toolmaker.

Please provide instructions. It’s really difficult to figure out what is been done for users like me new to Catia.
What kind of instructions do you need ? :O The video tutorial is done very slow to see the icons, planes, edges etc. If you are indeed a beginner I suggest to watch many others tutorials before this on, it is not for the first level of CATIA knowledge.
@@workbenchstuff The video is really amazing itself and yes it is slow but the screen isn’t clear to see what tool is being used. A voice instruction would be really great! That’s all I wanted to say. Thanks anyway. I’ll surely look at my basics before.

no voice because: i am not a native english speaker, the video is explicit enough and adding voice is not necessary, I use the tutorials with my students in class, so it could be a real mess to hear my voice from 20 computers..

we close the surface using some pairs of points, these points should be placed in corresponding positions; please refer to the official CATIA v5 documentation for more info
the purpose of replace points is to avoid cuspide, the "closing points" should be at a similar location on both of the section profiles

Yo dumb question but how do you quick trim multiple lines in quick succession (like at 2:27)? When I do it after trimming one line I have to click on the Quick Trim Icon again to activate the tool. Do you have to hold some key down or something?
yes, i double click on the yellow rubber, after trimming i click on it again to deactivate

No audio, pointer is also not visible sometimes.. little difficult to understand
no audio because there is nothing to say, the video is very explicit, done cery slow to be easy to understand, please view it on your laptop, of course the cursor is not so visible on your phone

still some improvement can be done, u can stop your pointer at the icons for little log so that we can read it's function, also adding voice would be great..🙂 overall nice video 👍
yes, in more recent videos there are some inprovements, I made the videos slower with stop on icons

C chanel bend in catia v5
When I open Multi Section Surface and Pic the 1st sketch its selects ok but when I try to pick the second sketch nothing happens. It will not allow me to select the second sketch. Can you provide any help with this?......thank you
I got it sorted out. Sketch was the issue
@@gman5986 The sketches 3 and 4 aren't neccassary. Just select planar surfaces which he uses for the sketches.

Everything fine until I reach the last part where we join with the pathways.
My catia is in german and don't know what to select in the endpoints.
Change it to English from the menu Tools -> Customize -> Options

Everyone says it's got scope and I see none. At the Same time companies expect 5yrs experience on the other hand no one is ready to give an opportunity to a fresher.
Depends where you live, and if it's only a certification and not a diploma. But you clearly can find a designer jobs mostly anywhere, you'll have to earn trust to get big tasks

The student license is 100eu and has the complete package. The only limitation is that you cant sell your designs as they are limited to other student licenses.
In October Dassault Systemes give the student licenses away for free (When you apply and can confirm you're a student.)

indeed, but this is not affecting the 3D model, just constrain it when you draw the sketches
При любом варианте построения детали в Solidworks, не совпадает конечный объём и общая площадь поверхности детали построенной в CATIA. Вот такая вот нестыковка. Какая то программа безбожно врёт!

why's that ? the views are enough to understand the model, even without the isometric representation. I am of old school, really learned CAD in faculty 🙂

Use Interpolation Spline in 3D Sketch Tools for connecting between 2 Solids & loft using Interpolation Spline as Rails..
Thanks for answer,buti try that it create just like 5.32 in this video. Too much bend at the center point and too thin. İn this video fixing it at the last step(6:00). But i cannot fix in fusion 360

Not the best and not ideal geometry in truth. Non-uniform thickness at the bend spoils the whole picture.
