You can use rubbing alcohol on the wet clay to get rid of finger prints. I do that on earrings. It works really well.

I love this tutorial and you describe things like I would!!! 😆 I'm going to do this with my daughters!!!! They both dig a good craft project like me and we would have such a great time. It'd be nice to have more plants in pots they've made for me as keepsakes.
Good call on putting in drainage! One of my girls already made a cute super simple pot in her ceramics class last semester with no drainage so I put some kitten ears in it.

Such a great tuturial. I started messing with clay last summerz but then fell out of it cause i got to busy, but, youve got me interested in it again, and im gonna get back into it. Im gonna try the flowers like you showed. I never did any flowers so im super excited! Luckily i have a craft store close to me to grab supplies.

I didn't realize you could bake pottery in your home oven. Thanks for sharing this. It came out gorgeous.
You only can if you use a polymer (plastic) based clay. It's not real clay, cus that has a higher firing temperature
You only can with this specific type of clay! Other kinda require a kiln (which is super expensive)
