Getaway to Overijssel- Deventer, Zutphen & Zompping on the Regge River

New Amsterdam Travel Video- Overijssel is a Dutch province in the northeast part of the Netherlands. We rented a vacation house in Holten on the border of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park and took several daytrips to nearby cities and towns by car, mostly by bike. We visited the historical towns that sit on the Ijssel River: Deventer and Zutphen (which actually lies in the Gelderland province). We explored the woods and heather fields of the national park, which also includes the Holton Canadian Cemetery. And we biked along the Regge River, where we climbed an old windmill and bumped into a vintage Volkswagon group by surprise. We also sailed the river on an Enterse Zomp, a replica of an old sailboat which transported goods on the river. #overijssel #deventer #netherlands
