The mistake I made was I didn't make a big enough pile of the color I liked, and then make a lighter and darker pile from that. I had a heck of a time mixing and re-mixing and not getting it quite right. I think one big batch of the skin tone I like and then working from that will really help. I value your content and look through your work often. thanks, Cinnamon.
What a great lesson! I laughed at the staring...I unconsciously do this all the time. There is so much beauty out there, especially when you have a melting pot of nationalities! You are so right! We need to embrace each other for our differences...especially now! Black and every color of people matter!🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨
Thank you! This was so great. Color mixing takes so much practice. Thank you for helping me not to have to re-invent the wheel! I have difficulty with shadows under the hair- when it goes from the side of the face to under the hair. It's a weird area for me.
I´m like 2nd and 5th on the first row you did, BUT sooooooooo much lighter lol funny enough, sometimes I can actually see some green under my pink....so weird..... I´m one of those who every foundation looks yellow on, they don´t make enough cool, rosy colors that´s really fair (almost like a tinted paper)....but, since I´ve learned so much about colors thanks to you, it´s become a lot easier to mix and make my own shade that actually matches me :)
I HAVE A BIT OF A DIFFICULF QUESTION I love to paint portraits of my family. We are mixed, English & Italian, this isn't a problem to me but my granddaughter is albino and I just cant get the colour right. She as blue eyes & white hair, but very delicate skin. Pleases help me.. Love you all
Hi YES that is a special creative challange. Does she has a red or blue undertone to her skin? Once you find that mix a base of that and have Zinc white AND titanium white. Use a Quinacridone Red or Quinacridone magenta depending on her skin base. Light transitions lighter values and Zinc will be your friend to capture that delicate touch to her skin. This is super helpful!! I especially struggle with highlights and shadows, and the tip about blue, yellow and orange made so much sense.

Can u teach how to paint a face? I wanted to do a painting of the vampire from Salem’s lot but I don’t think I can do it on my own.
Watch the About Face Big Art Quest. It will help. 💜

You were going a little bit too fast for me. You were continuing to mix skin tones and not explaining all of this ones you mixed.
Brenda Thank you for the feedback. I will be mindful of that for future lessons.
Had a hard time following this one. Too fast
