Andrew Garfield on Mel Gibson
• Andrew Garfield on Mel...
I watched Hacksaw Ridge last night and it was touching, brutal and exhilarating. Garfield was solid!
i really admire this guy, a lot of people unfairly judge gibson yet give others second chances that have done much worse
He was a mad man living in a mad town and lost his mind with a bottle of whiskey in his hand. That's shocking to people who have not an ounce of vision in them.
his ten years sober now
Andrew: “Mel is a great director and gets at the heart of our humanity.”
Kimmy: “he he heh, spiderman lets talk spiderman.”
Jimmy is a moron
What a tool
FR Mel is a Good a Director 👍👌
Jimmy wasn't listening..
Jimmy is clearly jealous of Mel Gibson🤣
hacksaw ridge was the best movie I've ever seen. I will now forever be in love with andrew garfield
GUAU!!...SO GOOD!!
HACKSAW RIDGE THE GREAT 2017 OSCARS SEASON STAR. ABSOLUTELY.
WITH MUCH MOFRE THAN ONE GOLDEN BOY AWARD...OF COURSE.
BEST DIRECTOR,BEST FILM,BEST ACTOR,BEST SCORE...AMONG OTHER. HOPE IT IS LIKE THAT...BECAUSE THAT'S IT.
PS: SORRY ABOUT MY BIG PRINT,IF THAT BOTHERS YOU,I'M WORKING HARD ON IT,SORRY.
Katie I saw it a couple of days ago and thought it was a brilliant film.
Same here
@@Jbk28
did it 'jar'red you that
hacksaw ridge centers on a
7th-Day Adventist,
as the reason why you're trying to deflect to another war film?
This man is such a terrific actor. I believe he should have won an oscar for his job in The Social Network. But lets hope he wins one for Hacksaw Ridge!
so you want awards for people that pretend to be real people and get paid millions for it
@Thomas Larsen oh shut up thomas
Andrew Garfield's laugh is a combination between a dolphin and helicopter
0riginal _Panda_Child what lol
boi what
he was fantastic in Social Network..
Haha. Eduardo.
He was robbed of an Oscar nomination that year.
He got a Kermode award for it...
PauLtus B The highest honour of all.
PauLtus B although Christopher Nolan did wear a tuxedo accepting his best director Kermode for inception.
one day, one day this guy is gonna portray roger federer.
Or Andy Rodrick
I thought of the same thing
Why ? They don't look alike at all
Obummer OMG you're right!!
man you made me drop my laptop, hahahaahahaaha! A+
You can say whatever you want about Mel, but forsure you can't deny how incredibly talented he is as director!
Hacksaw Ridge, I wish I had seen it in theaters instead of Fantastic Beasts.
This is such an epic masterpiece
Andrew Garfield: most sincere talk show guest ever.
"Did Mel know you're Jewish?"
Brb lets pretend 90% of hollywood isnt Jewish lmfao
The talent is averagely jewish. the behind the scene guys are mostly jews
If your definition of 'averagely' is 'incredibly over-represented considering they make up only 2% of the US population and 0.2% of the world'. Yes, I agree.
incredibly overrepresented as performers? That's certainly not the case
Driver here we go.
Most of these so called "Jews" were born in this country so they didn't infiltrate anything. That is like saying Christians infiltrated politics and run the government.
Mel Gibson makes the some of the best films. He isn't as crazy as Woody Allen, or Roman Polanski either, Jimmy.
Both of them are Jewish.
G's Up
Lmao, you piece of crap bullshitter.
Roman Polanski escaped the country because he is a disgusting rapist and hasn't returned because he will be arrested.
Woody Allen is reviled by a majority of the film industry and most actors will not work with him.
Still, in defence of those who do, nothing has been proven against him in regards to the rape case and although he's still done some other morally questionable things.
Jimmy is definitely the worst talk show host
Jimmy is a Jew too.
Roman Polanski is not crazy. He’s just a criminal. And an incredibly monstrous human being. Woody Allen has never been officially convicted, but I suspect he is the same.
New respect for him thanks for standing up for Mel dude!
bullshit
Agreed I hate that Hollywood hates on Mel. Literally ever since The Passion of Christ movie and that just tells us what we should know about Hollywood
@@ainsleystuart1234 wrong. Passions of the Christ was a very problematic film but that is just one of the many issues with mel. Definitely look into it and decide for yourself if gibson is redeemable. Not arguing he is or not just saying that there is much more to it than that one film.
@@cellyzs there is much more to everyone’s problems and sins. Why are you judging someone you don’t know? You’re judgement is entirely based upon what you’ve heard in the media. What’s the worst thing you’ve done wrong in your life? And how would you feel if someone judged your entire character based upon that thing you did? Only Christ can judge acceptably. look after yourself, try to be better every day and stop egoically judging people.
@@MrgrayMrgray First of all, Im atheist.
Secondly, mel gibson is toxic and problematic. He has lots of influence over people and contributes to toxic and problematic behavior in society. It's up to us as people to see what he is doing and critique to improve and become more progressive, and then it's up to Mel to acknowledge what he has done was wrong and make amends (he has donated to jewish charities, hires jeweish people, etc.). It's easy to say "don't judge" "ignore it" etc. when you're not being hurt, targeted, affected by what's happening. Be fortunate for your privilege and thank ur sky daddy for how blessed you are that you get to be so ignorant and not worry about problems in society.
natural charisma, he feels so real I really like this guy. hope he gets more roles!
Mel Gibson is the best director and the best man in Hollywood.I don't think any human being could survive from such an unfair attacks and injustice and betrayal ,what he went through
you have got to be kidding.
What's wrong with Mel? What did he do? I'm not american, so can someone please explain?
Mel's the man
mad dusa Oh. He's got some bad reputation, I see. Thanks :)
We worship Mel, in truth.
Andrew Garfield is Jewish? Huh, I'll be damned didn't know that
Just pick a random hollywood star from a hat and you have 50% chance he is jewish
Jan Reinkens more like 80%.....
+Raymond Venice Probably
David Datura Why so triggered? it wasn't meant to be racist, or was it discriminating? it's just an observation, I know for a search that half of the celebrities I like/follow are jewish, nothing wrong with that
SnowSpider108 I wasn't referring to you.
I think Mel Gibson didn't know he was jewish.
"Oh, 'Garfield! Sounds like that cat. I should hire him!"
I read that in Mel's voice and suddenly your comment was 1000x better lol
Maybe he didn't care one bit he was jewish.
Titken Toft Mel Gibson... Really?! hahaha
He probably changed his mind on who killed Jesus and so hates Romans now. Next time he gets pulled over he'll be cussing out 'Calzones' or 'Dagos'
or maybe he knew but he was making a point?
One of my fav actors ever 😀
Gent M have you watched his spiderman movies? they were great
They weren't HIS movies, he just played the main role. But they were indeed great despite you sounding sarcastic when saying it.
Charge Timps I wish Sony didn't ruin the franchise with the 2nd. Would have loved to see more of Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. Though Marvel did an awesome job in Civil War.
11beardr Yeh same here
11beardr I agree, blame goes to Sony for making it script and direction bad
Give this man an Oscar already he is such a good actor so authentic
Ah...forgot he's british.
JP Kloess 😔
It does kind of sneak up on you with Garfield doesn't it?
Hollywood = Jewish
Xavier Quintana he’s british u nonce
Naem Khan technically he's American as he was born in America but he lived most of his life in England as far as I know so he classifies as both
Mel is a revolutionary director, Garfield is an incredible actor and seems like an incredibly down to earth person. Great team that I hope isn’t done at one movie!
kimmel please talk with respect when you talk about mel gibson .
With the same respect Mel has for mexicans and jews.
Mel is respectful! He respectfully hates them.
Yeah, respect the fact that he's an anti-Semite and a racist.
Stefan G. Bucher ye its not like he was drunk and the fact it happened 10 years ago
Stefan G. Bucher we all have stuff that we would not like other people to know about. Mel apologised for it and people grow. Get over it..
Just saw hacksaw. Fantastic movie and this dude did a great job. 10/10
Andrew Garfield is going to win an Academy Award next year for Hacksaw Ridge, much of the thanks to Mel Gibson that gave him a chance to play in his movie.
Actually when producers came to Mel with the movie, Andrew already was approved to play the lead and Mel's decision to direct was partially because of Andrew was the lead actor, he said in an interview himself. He said that he agreed to direct the movie because he was moved by the script and the story of Desmond and because Andrew was in it, and he immediately said "let's do it".
Tom holland is doing great and all but
But it was too soon for him
If I was an actor, I'd rather be working with Mel Gibson and Martin Scorcese than playing Spider-Man.
Kevin Carney most definitely!!
Too soon for who?
For starter Andrew is 33 Tom 20, the comparison makes no sense
I'm a fan of his spiderman but I feel that he is too talented to just be boxed in as spiderman and be used in the Sony franchise movie after movie
Love Andrew Garfield, such a nice guy :)
His performance on this film was truly amazing, I saw it yesterday and I was blown away!
If you see a lumberjack from oregon you should be worried, because it could be mel gibson.
I didn't know he was Jewish. I always just think of cats who love lasagna when I hear his name. 😶
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈
Good one. 🤣🤣
Andrew Garfield is amazing and this movie looks amazing, I love the premise. The man in question was amazing.
2:40 he goes from laughing to serious so quick 😂
Mel Gibson is a great film maker all of the controversy aside
True 😎👍👌
My fave spidey :-D
he just seems like the greatest guy
He's nice :)
I didn't really like him as Spider Man, but Andrew is a really good actor, and seems like the right choice for this movie. And also, Mel is a legend! :D
Fenny Helgi agreed. But I still like him a Spiderman. And I want marvel to make a spider verse movie and bring him in
Ick Brick52 Well, I'd rather have them bring back Tobey Maguire ;)
no, that guy was terrible.
He was amazing as spider-man wtf... He is a great actor, watch 99 Homes.
Ben Jauncey already, what's it about?
Why is Andrew so suave all the time, I can't.
I actually liked the amazing spider-man movies, I think every spider-man movies represented an aspect of spider-man perfectly. Who agrees ?
Couldnt agree more big fella
meee lol
this guy deserved a nomination for his work in social network...
I love Andrew Garfield, his energy is great
“Hugging the cactus” those words will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you.
Andrew, Tobey, and Tom should get together and do something.
Good chance your comment is coming true 4 years later lol
You just predicted something mah dude. ಥ⌣ಥ
guess what
This dude predicted the future
They are now hehe
Thank God this guy cut his hair.
Nara P He had to.
Nara P he had the long hair for Martin Scorsese's "Silence" where he plays a Christian missionary
I concur, 100%! :)
When are people going to understand that actors change their appearances for roles and stop freaking out over paparazzi pictures?
yea, Praise the Lord he cut them!
So respect for Andrew for his way of humble speech..
Andrew is just a joy, and his story telling is so entertaining. Love him!!
Was waiting for him to say Mel pulled out a Hitler mask...comedy gold.
Andrew is a good egg. So pumped for this movie
where is fu**in' matt damon?
Penguin Life with Sarah Silverman
He became a potato farmer for a couple of years and beyond that I don't know.
SCOTTY DOESN'T KNOW!
Nice to see Andy Murray can do more than playing tennis.
Lol this is so true he looks exactly like him but just less bald
Mel Gibson will always be an amazing actor
Andrew Garfield has an old man's face, but it looks like they airbrushed out all the wrinkles
Dane Potmo then why would he be type casted as a teenager/twenty year old?
Shup up stupid
Cody Bosnos Because what other age group could he play? He doesn't have wrinkles, he's obviously not old. By old, I don't mean like 50's, 60's. I'm not saying he has the face of a weathered person...I mean he has the facial construct of like an 87 year-old. A little inwardly puckered.
Dane Potmo he looks like he's 20 what the hell 😂😂 Garfield is stunning.
ttarkA113 honey I think you're the crazy one. It's okay to feel jealous. I'd be jealous of him too
Mel is one of the pure talent of hollywood both as an actor as well as director. Everyone has personal demons and some are able to overcome them
Web-Out To Andrew Garfield Who Is The Definitive Spider-Man In And Out Of Character !
Andrew Garfield is so talented 😍👏👏
Mel is genius and good human being. Mel needs to make more movies.
Andrew Garfield was my favorite spiderman
Someone with as many skeletons in his closet as Kimmel shouldn’t be picking Mel Gibson apart.
Agreed
Andrew Garfield could play a young Peter Capaldi.
He looks a little bit like the actress who plays Hazel in fault in our stars!
Lmao I was just thinking that.
1adySteele her name is Shailene Woodley and they do have similar facial features... they would be great siblings in any movie
1adySteele 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
1adySteele fuk tho I see it
I thought the same, she was supposed to be Mary Jane.
Hacksaw Ridge movie of the year!
Hacksaw Ridge is the best film of the year and one of my fav of all time, so underrated. It floored me from beggining to end. Help me save one more... help me save one more.
Hacksaw ridge is the best movie I've ever seen .God Bless.
This movie is SO GOOD. I know people don't like Mel Gibson, but he directs really good movies. Even The Passion, I like it even though I'm an atheist. Also go see The Blood Father. He almost plays his character from lethal weapon but with a kid
It's incredible
Dalton Moen Love Blood Father, hugely underrated revenge action flick.
I remember hearing about it and thinking "This sounds amazing" and then I bought it and loved it.
Dalton Moen Same
Just one more lord give me one more
He looks like the actor that played spider man
MidnightMoon 123 you're so sad
UhAzoni he was in amazing spiderman 1 and 2
I definitely left Lethal Weapon feeling deeply moved
wolfaesthetic I was being sarcastic
Also Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto was great...
Andrew is a legend
Steve went from Stranger Things to working with Mel Gibson! Hahaha
Dylan Cataldo No.... Steve was played by, Joe Keery.
Sarah Johnson lol I know I was just kidding since they look so similar
The disgruntled jews in hollywood are going to have to give Mel his well deserved oscar, hahaha the joy
Andrew deserves an Oscar for Hacksaw Ridge
Couldn't believe Andrew Garfields performance. His role in Hacksaw Ridge made me see a new side of his acting. True oscar in that movie.
It was a great movie and Andrew Garfield did an amazing job! I wish he won the oscars!
Thank You Andrew for the film Hacksaw Ridge, the best from the best.
We love you and Mel too. Blessings.
Wow I actually forgot that he was British for a minute because his American is accent is so damn good
Please be Spider-Man again.
He is a nice guy and great actor.
Love Andrew Garfield.
If he brought this same natural awkwardness to Spider-Man then his Peter Parker would've been more believable
JunkYardDog175 peter parker is more than just an awkward person wtf
An awkward person who's immensely smart.
Steven Hernandez again, hes more than than just a smart awkward person
Luis Huerta A smart and awkward person who is sarcastic and dating way out of his league? (Also, If you hadn't already noticed, I'm pulling your chain.)
He did.
got to love this guy charming and likeable
i really loved this interview- good to hear mel is doing well and happy
Iraq 2005, I met Vince during his Abu Ghraib visit. Vince is simply one of the guys.
one of the greatest movies ever made!
Im so glad Mel is back and running! Just hope it lasts :D
I Love Andrew Garfield
I thought that really cool that Andrew Garfield didn't say anything hateful about Mel Gibson, because you could just tell that's what Jimmy Kimmel was wanting.
marvel please make a spiderverse movie with tom holland , andrew garfield and tobey maguire present in the film waaaa.
belac abnoy oh my gosh You to, that's the biggest thing I want them (marvel) to do. And because they're introducing the multi-verse in Dr. strange, this would be the perfect time to do a spider verse movie(s)
ohmygod yes! And put Emma Stone as Spider Gwen
i swear andrew seems like a friendly guy that you could talk with for hours
Does anyone remember Andrew from Doctor Who? :D
Glad Kimmel had the balls to ask that question.
kimmel is so good lately, fallon used to be better
AleynaSeymen Fallon's interviews are unbearable
When was this because I truly do not remember him being better than Kimmel. Ever.
Lady Serrafyna ahhh, eveyone, i just stated my opinion. and i didnt try to say fallon was better than kimmel, i meant jimmy was better before than he is nowadays. calm down its just my opinion :(
jimmy fallon's laugh cant be ANY FAKER LMAO its unbearable
AleynaSeymen agreed, that's because it's more about the guests. We actually get to hear them speak!
My fav mel movie - Braveheart, Hacksaw ridge, the patriot
Because I mostly see him playing 'American', I always think his British accent is fake
Classless Kimmel taking shots at Mel.
love ur voice Andrew 😊
This movie moved me, I just watched it and I almost cried fr this movie is truly amazing I recommend everyone who hasn't watched it to watch it!!!!!!
Jimmy Kimmel made me cringe what stupid questions..
Still think he's a better spiderman.
Just watched this as I want to be focused to fully appreciate this but it's great to see Andrew Garfield again, seen 2 reviews for Hacksaw Ridge & they both say it's great, hope to see it soon whenever it's out in the UK, still wish he was still Spidey but I hold out hope DC sign him up, who knows Marvel may want him but would say it'd be more likely DC, he's a really good actor imo, keep forgetting he's from the UK & he does not look old, he's 33 which is mad, I'm 18 & look older than him
Some guy named Mike You got to see it man. It was great like literally great. It was really realistic in terms of battle scenes and also very emotional. It just might be my favorite film of the year (then again I'm a huge fan of war movies)
vlad mircan thanks for your view man, further shows how well taken the film has been
Some guy named Mike It's so worth the buy that I feel it's my duty to recommend it to people. Anyway have you seen saving private Ryan? Because the battle scenes here are really similar to those in that movie.
vlad mircan Yeah I've seen it, actually was on on Sunday so I watched it again, really good film that gets across both the brutality & brotherhood of war I felt, feels very human
As a bearded lumberjack from Oregon, please don’t hit me in the face thinking I am Mel Gibson in disguise.
Bojack Horseman knows the truth
2:40 haha he ended that laugh so quick
So if you see a lumberjack from Oregon, punch him in the face because it's probably Mel Gibson
Unless that lumberjack has glitter in his beard...then he really is from Oregon
popeye697 And then realising, punching Mel would be a tremendous mistake.
Why would you punch Mel Gibson? Besides, the guy is jacked, you would get your ass whooped.
Andrew & Mel 😎👍👌
