They don't allow you to take your cameras because first off, it's actually FOR your safety. Some people have heavy cameras and video equipment that they don't need to be dropped onto the glass. They also don't want the liability if you drop your camera over, as you KNOW some people will do. I think maybe they are planning ahead to save things from falling over the walk and causing a mess below over time.
Yes, cameras on the Skywalk is a safety concern. There are tons of other vantage points where you can take photos with a professional camera. We suggest Guano Point. 💖
Oh Please ... if you take out your phone ( that they tell you to keep in the locker ) and try to snap a photo, they will tell you that no photo taking is allowed EXCEPT for the ones the guide takes and charges you an exorbitant amount of money to purchase. Total rippoff
The Skywalk was really cool but probably not worth buying the photos, its expensive enough as it is. They should give you photos for free considering how much they charge for the experience and they won't allow you to take your own photos.
@@scottjohnson8316 Guano Point is definitely underrated! There is no additional admission fee, and the best part about it is that you can get 360 degree views of the canyon - no obstructions. We do have some videos about Guano Point on our channel if you want to check those out!
We do have some different flight options and prices for the Skywalk - depending on if you're looking to depart from Las Vegas or from Grand Canyon West. Please send us a chat on our website or give us a call so we can further assist you! flymaverick.com

Nice one. Paying 700 USD to sit in the middle seat in the back of the helicopter to see shit. I booked a tour and I better hope I don't end up on those seats.
Now is 60 for general entrance and anything else is extra don't waste you money for just looking. It at a hole it should be free and the skywalk is 30 after you pay 60 for general entrance
the Skywalk is a total ripoff. Expensive for the privilege of waiting on a long line to spend a very limited amount of time on the Skywalk that actually does NOT hover over a 4000 ft drop into the canyon but what is beneath the skywalk is closer to 1000 feet. Of course you can see the more dramatic depth in the distance but the implication that the Skywalk hovers over depths of 4000 feet are blatantly false. Guano point was nice but do yourself a favor and plan a trip to the South rim which is deeper and far more dramatic and you can ( if you have the heart) hike some of the trails down the canyon face.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the West Rim, and some of its attractions are not for everyone, but both the West Rim and South Rim have Pros and Cons. We suggesting seeing what fits your trip plans first.
Always gotta be someone negative. What's for you may not be for the next person. I liked the west Rim and will go back just like 1000s of others have. I've been to the other rim. I think it was the south also. May have been the north but it was many years ago.
@@thelifeandtimesofyoboislim8967 I'm always curious as to the inability of some people's grasp of comprehension. The point of my "gripe" is that the Skywalk was a ripoff. We had no problem with the western rim. As i said, it's not as dramatic as the south rim but the western rim has the advantage as it's accessible for people who go to Vegas. Had we known that the Skywalk didn't have a dramatic view and that it was a money grab for them to take photos ( because you can't take you cameras or iphones on the walk), we would have gladly passed on it. Not negative, in my view just informative In my view.

Right thats a scam just have people wear a phone or camera lantern.

@@yuyupinkberry Only pictures taken by the employees are allowed. No photos from cameras, phones, or other outside devices.
Spirit Mountain casino is the same way. Must be a native thing to charge people to use their own cameras. I’ve never heard of that anywhere else

wait you cant bring cameras on the skywalk! thats crazy!
It's to keep you from killing someone below or trying to "save" your phone.

Safety reasons. If people drop camera and phones it could cause damage over time. I don't blame them for not letting cameras and phones on it

Eagle point is best seen from the Skywalk, however you can still see it from the viewpoint next to the Skywalk.
