So sad when you compare exciting, compelling, riveting scenes like this with the bland, mediocre, lackluster episodes of today. I can't understand why the writers are unable to craft any quality, worthwhile & meaningful stories anymore. Susan Flannery carried this show on her shoulders during her time on it. The character of Stephanie was the heart of this show, it's why she was involved in almost every storyline in some way & since they killed her off, the show has flatlined itself. The best years of this show were the first dozen or so, when they had superb writers & a talented, well rounded cast. Now the show is filled with a bunch of young twentysomethings with no acting chops, no personalities & no meaty stories for the audience to care about or want to follow & no worthy characters to root for.
Cuz the soaps don't have the big bucks they had in the 80s & 90s. They can't afford good writers anymore & no one is clamoring to work on a soap. The genre is dead.

Then when Hope was born she kept trying to lure Ridge to her saying that Hope needed a good father. Deacon wanted to raise Hope considering that he's Hope's birth father but Brooke wouldn't let him. It seemed like Nick had a better connection with Hope. Then when RJ was born, she started doing the same thing with him as she used to do with Bridget. She kept saying that RJ needed a stable life. If she was so serious about that way of thinking, then she should've made more effort to give Rick and Bridget a stable life. When it came to their parenting, Eric did most of the work.
I never understood Stephanie’s hate for Brooke. Her sons and ex-husband all did what they wanted. And what they wanted was Brooke. Stephanie never held them accountable. I loved it when Brooke got 51% of Forrester Creations. Having said that I’d do understand that soaps needed two women to go against each other. These two were great.

Stephanie mentions "painting a very unsavoury picture" of Brooke based on several aspects of her life that makes Brooke as a mother look questionable on her morals alone, especially if they juxtapose them together - much like a panographic image.
