    The dynamic duo of Joe and Ron have done it again. The playfield looks really clean and fresh now. The new pop bumpers dress up the upper playfield. The game will look great when it’s I the customer’s home. I think he’s gonna be very happy.

    You undersell the quality of your playfield touchups. It now looks terrific for a 55 year old route beater . It should look great for another 50 years with home use. Thanks for all your repair vids. I learn something new on nearly every one.

    what's cool is to fast forward at points through the painting to see how well the paint matches! It is freaking amazing.... I FF and REW over and over and its amazing the job Ronnie does in matching!

    You're WAY better at painting small details with a paint brush than I am. I've had MUCH better luck at doing lettering and really fine details using toothpicks to paint instead of brushes. The Tosca paint pens work well too. Looks great as usual Ron!

    Beautiful paint job, as always, Ron!! You ever try the sponge paint applicators? They tend to leave a smoother finish without the brush stroke lines, though not as hardy as brushes. Hey! What happened to painting the blue pop bumpers salmon where they faded? Come on people!!

    Nice job you guys! This would be a cool game for me to own. I've always liked airplanes and live in the landing approach of the local limited airport a few miles away. Trying to decide if that playfield is really beautiful or am I predisposed. Respectful clean up and touch up, just the right amount of attention.

    Hey guys. I have been experimenting with ways to deal with old, cracked plastics. I have found a really good product called Modge Podge that will hide the cracks and is pretty strong. It takes some work and prep, but this stuff dries super clear and strong. I take the old plastic part and open up the crack a bit. Next spread in the modge podge with a soft brush. Wipe off the excess and install the piece without over tightening. Let the Modge Podge dry. Tighten after. Just something that has worked for me. Give it a try.. if it doesn't work, it's water soluble.

    Hey Ron... you may have explained this before... sorry for not seeing if you did. Is there a particular reason why you leave the bulbs in at the top of the playfield when doing the touchups around it? Just curious. Looks great as usual!!

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 місяців тому +8

      Keeps paint out of the socket, we also clear coat it after we do the touchups, then we wax it. THEN put in new bulbs so we leave the old bulbs to keep out paint, clear, wax
      Thanks for watching

    I think it looks great! How do you handle the groove arc the ball has made at the top of the playfield? Was that just Windex used as a cleaner with the magic eraser and towels? What wax did you use? I've been looking at the was the pinball stores sell and wonder if there is a cheaper/better option. Thanks for the great videos!

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 місяців тому +3

      Just Windex an a magic eraser and get it the best we can, this one was pretty worn
      We like Carnauba car wax you can get it at most of the auto parts stores or here

    Ronnie, after touch ups, what clear do you use? Also, do you just spot-clear, or clear the whole playfield?? If spot-cleared, how do you avoid noticing cleared vs non-cleared sections? Sorry for all the questions, but I have a Mata Hari that could use a few touchups.
    It’s not too bad, but I’d like to get her looking really, really good. Many thanks!

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 місяців тому +1

      We just use regular Satin Clear spray paint, This one we cleared the whole thing but often we spot clear it and just put a heavy coat of wax over everything and it usually blends in, You have to make sure your machine doesn't have any wax on it before you clear it tho
