The dynamic duo of Joe and Ron have done it again. The playfield looks really clean and fresh now. The new pop bumpers dress up the upper playfield. The game will look great when it’s I the customer’s home. I think he’s gonna be very happy.
You undersell the quality of your playfield touchups. It now looks terrific for a 55 year old route beater . It should look great for another 50 years with home use. Thanks for all your repair vids. I learn something new on nearly every one.
I don't know which I like better, watching the dirt come off. Or the new paint go on, a fun time had by all. 2 Thumbs up.
That is one steady hand you have on you there Ronnie!
The music change at 26:32 when you put the white liquid stuff onto the playfield was really hilarious!
You must be new here! 😂😂😂
@@tonychapman4074 Yep, I sure am! That's definitely my type of humor!
I like the Georgie Fame / Buddy Guy music for the pink paint.
what's cool is to fast forward at points through the painting to see how well the paint matches! It is freaking amazing.... I FF and REW over and over and its amazing the job Ronnie does in matching!
You're WAY better at painting small details with a paint brush than I am. I've had MUCH better luck at doing lettering and really fine details using toothpicks to paint instead of brushes. The Tosca paint pens work well too. Looks great as usual Ron!
I love seeing these old machines brings back memories of my oldest brother taking me to a little restaurant called the Copper Kettle in our small hometown here in Michigan circa 1967-1968 I was 6 or 7 years old this started my love of Pinball 😊
Copper Kettle in Holland Michigan by chance?
Razzle Berry to the rescue ! Looks great guys ! Always amazed at how well you’re able to touch these old beauties up . Nice work 👍
Beautiful paint job, as always, Ron!! You ever try the sponge paint applicators? They tend to leave a smoother finish without the brush stroke lines, though not as hardy as brushes. Hey! What happened to painting the blue pop bumpers salmon where they faded? Come on people!!
Lovely clean up job. Love the painting too.
Glad you made a new channel for the Amateur Repair series! That is totally AWESOME!!!
Thank you for watching!
groovy music! and wow! I wish my hands were that steady.
Nice job you guys! This would be a cool game for me to own. I've always liked airplanes and live in the landing approach of the local limited airport a few miles away. Trying to decide if that playfield is really beautiful or am I predisposed. Respectful clean up and touch up, just the right amount of attention.
Airport by Pilot. What a song and what a pinball.
The paint touch up turned out great. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks 👍
Ron - Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
Love it. Great work. Love the music too.
I see you’re steadily advancing to 61,000 subscriber’s! AWESOME !!!!!!!!
Further Farther Faster Higher Stronger
Have you ever tried Eagle One brand "Never Dull" to clean the metal surfaces? It works great on chrome, aluminum, and steel.
I haven't, but I've seen that in the stores maybe I ought to pick some up.
Great work!
“Do you actually have it?!??”
“Oh yasss, itsa vera nize!”
Hey guys. I have been experimenting with ways to deal with old, cracked plastics. I have found a really good product called Modge Podge that will hide the cracks and is pretty strong. It takes some work and prep, but this stuff dries super clear and strong. I take the old plastic part and open up the crack a bit. Next spread in the modge podge with a soft brush. Wipe off the excess and install the piece without over tightening. Let the Modge Podge dry. Tighten after. Just something that has worked for me. Give it a try.. if it doesn't work, it's water soluble.
I've heard of that stuff but never used it. I'll have to give it a try, thank you!
Hey Ron... you may have explained this before... sorry for not seeing if you did. Is there a particular reason why you leave the bulbs in at the top of the playfield when doing the touchups around it? Just curious. Looks great as usual!!
Keeps paint out of the socket, we also clear coat it after we do the touchups, then we wax it. THEN put in new bulbs so we leave the old bulbs to keep out paint, clear, wax
Thanks for watching
I think it looks great! How do you handle the groove arc the ball has made at the top of the playfield? Was that just Windex used as a cleaner with the magic eraser and towels? What wax did you use? I've been looking at the was the pinball stores sell and wonder if there is a cheaper/better option. Thanks for the great videos!
Just Windex an a magic eraser and get it the best we can, this one was pretty worn
We like Carnauba car wax you can get it at most of the auto parts stores or here
www.amazon.com/Meguiars-Deep-Crystal-Carnauba-Wax/dp/B0009IQX6I?crid=IXLVFYKGAAF9&keywords=meguiars%2Bwax&qid=1704568605&sprefix=meguiars%2Bwax,aps,117&sr=8-8&th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=lyonsarcade-20&linkId=ef546118196ba0c0714f165471797ecd&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
the cracked plastic is easy to repair... windscreen stonechip/crack repair kit
Ronnie, after touch ups, what clear do you use? Also, do you just spot-clear, or clear the whole playfield?? If spot-cleared, how do you avoid noticing cleared vs non-cleared sections? Sorry for all the questions, but I have a Mata Hari that could use a few touchups.
It’s not too bad, but I’d like to get her looking really, really good. Many thanks!
We just use regular Satin Clear spray paint, This one we cleared the whole thing but often we spot clear it and just put a heavy coat of wax over everything and it usually blends in, You have to make sure your machine doesn't have any wax on it before you clear it tho

A lot of work on this
Come on People! :)
That waxing music tho...
I can laser cut replacement plastics (acrylic/polycarbonate) if you have someone that can paint or screen print them.
Was that actually Windex in the spray bottle? I’m working on an Airport myself at the moment and the playfield is atrocious. Considering the Magic eraser as Naptha isn’t quite cutting it.
Yes it's just windex. If you use alcohol it works even better
what was squirted on the playfield after the painting (dark red bottle)? Thanks
That's just Carnuba car wax. The colors used were "Vivid Blue", "Razzleberry", "Desert Turquoise" and "Golden Yellow"
Thanks so much. As an Airport owner really enjoying this series. These EM pinball machines are a marvel of engineering.
Have you considered painters tape?
Would u mind listing the paint colors you used. Thanks
I really want that pac-man next to it but I bought a multicade system instead... That's a shame :/
Just make room for two!
@@LyonsArcade I wish... Pac-Man would be my third machine then. I have 2 multicade systems now... One in my own room and one in the game room for people who come over to play.
Have you ever tried air brushing, you would need top mask off the area but you would not get brush marks.
Pinball Rehab.
Why didn't you take the bulbs out before painting?
We always replace all the bulbs, if you leave them in you don't get any paint or wax in the lamp sockets
A conservation.
Black is Black was the Jungle Brothers, Ron! Come on now. You should know!
It was also Q Tip, and you call yourself a fan???!!!!???? ua-cam.com/video/zR9AlcgL6_0/v-deo.htmlsi=ngrActiiXM7jjZLi&t=168
@@LyonsArcade damn. I even have that album too. How could I forget?
