This particular carnaval (or 'kermis' as it is called in the Netherlands) always had the latest arcade games. I jumped on my bike, cycled 10 kilometres, ignored all other attractions and arrived at the arcade. It was there that I discovered 'Vendetta'. Left the arcade with NO money :-) Awesome (hard!) game, love it.
Played hundreds of arcade machines in the 80s n 90s, but didn't remember playing this one. I was flicking through my pandora saga console earlier and found this. It's absolutely fantastic. I lost quite a few lives but completed it in no time. It's definitely going on my list of top 10 beat em ups.👍

I would love a beat em up that has every fighter from every a beat em up game ever. Like start off in genaric first level. Second level is from Double Dragon. Third is Streets of Rage. Final Fight, Guntlet , BattleToads, ect

If you're old enough to know of the musical group 'the Village People', one of them is a leatherman. In the actual game however, they have a habit of mincing around and groping you (to say the least) if they get close. There's no way that would fly now.

I’m sure Fightcade has this. Recently learned about “Night Slashers” another beat em up that flew under my radar at that time.
Never heard of this game before now. Looks like an enhanced Final Fight with a SOR2-esque soundtrack. Hope it makes its way to the MiSTer at some point...

He later retired from this life and found true friendship with his alley buddies, but he sometimes wonders about what his old gang friends are up to.
Hopefully this WILL come to PS4 sometime soon thru Hamster's Arcade Archives. The first game dropped a while back (Vendetta is Crime Fighters II in Japan) Not sure how they will deal with the leather guys though 😂
Home consoles where games were close to arcade quality, and the popularity of non-arcade type games that were longer experiences is what killed arcades. In Japan, arcades still thrive.
Last time I played, I kept on gaining extra lives somehow, it seemed as if as I racked up points, my lives increased exponentially until I had over 40 lives. But it doesn't seem to happen every time I play the game. Anyone else know what I'm talking about here?

a common software copy protection in arcades is to mess with the profits of the operator. (yes, piracy as in "bootleg arcade boards" was very common) the arcade rom misbehaves in the billing of the players when it detects the board has been tampered with, often "giving incentives to play without paying much if anything at all" think of that as "the developers trolling arcade owners that pirated their products". If you had this effect on a emulator, it is likely that the protection was not properly emulated, and the rom "figured out" it is not running on the original, unmodified hardware. other less harmful manners those games behaved when pirated was missing sound and/or deliberate graphical glitches. (copy protection chip was often related to sound or graphics)
@ i didnt know this board had such protection, the only copy protection i found in konami boards was a special gfx decription chip, if missing, some gfx would not show or appear garbled, is found in tmnt2, sunset riders and violent storm to my knowledge

There sure are a lot of stock sound effects for enemy death cries in this game. Surprised they didn't use the Wilhelm Scream.
